A Little Weekend Job

Hello :)

Squeezed between spells of Christmas Shopping this weekend I managed to finish off another one of those 'little jobs' which has been on my mind for a bit now. It started off like this...

And then turned into this...

And after this weekend it finished off looking like this...

As per usual, my stuff looks terrible when you look at it nice and close with a photo, but at normal distances it looks alright!

A wonderful little model - congratulations Missy on being a leader of inspiration yet again!

May I ask how you produced the transfers (presuming they are transfers) for the side of the van?

Lovely! I forget how small 2mm scale is sometimes, displaying it on a pound coin's a great idea! Nice livery choice as well, the red writing on the grey background has a lovely period feel.

That is properly impressive, and the close up photo would be tidy enough if it was some kind of 1:76 monster.. given the scale it is remarkable.

A reminder that I need to get back into some 3D printing adventures.. have been practising with Inventor...

Fantastic work as ever, Julia, and you've put me to shame by finishing it in a tenth of the time that it's taken me to get a coat of primer onto my van model!

Surely every job is little in 2mm?

Just kidding! :)

A cracking van, the glazing must have been a right .

Hello Guys :)

Thanks once again, the comments are certainly encouraging.

have been practising with Inventor...

I use Inventor (alot!). If you need any help or advice then let me know.

Hmmmm, yes. There is a slight chance I could make some of these 'available', how much would you expect to pay for such a kit? As for a Morris Commercial J4, I will have to see how difficult it would be to model plus I need some scale drawings to work too.

I would love to know how you glazed it too!

I use something called "Micro Kristal Klear" which I got from Eileens Emporium. I apply it simply with a cocktail stick until it covers the aperture which then sets totally clear. I wouldnt use it for windows that are too big though.

Was this printed on a B9 printer?

Yes :). The results so far have surpassed anything Shapeways have produced for me.

I haven't even got that far - and I've had the bits longer than either of you!
