For Once It's Not Always About The Finching Sisters !

Modellers today are spoiled for choice with various buildings either rtp like Skaledale or card kits from several suppliers.Another cottage supplier are Townstreet. Here I've used their corner shop on the end of a row of terrace houses. The kit is plaster castings that glue together using pva .The fun bit is the painting where one can really go to town.I've fitted an interior using castings from Langley models grocers shop. The window castings come with the kit.Tiny Signs adverts adorn the outside. Not a cheap project but very satisfying none the less.

Here we see George and Mary Rouncewell out shopping but George is more interested in his racing paper than Joseph Aulds wares.

Yes, completely agree. I love the way you can get the mortar to go into the crevices via capillary action so easily!

So, who is Josiah Auld related to? Is he some long-forgotten Scottish cousin of Henry Finching-Harbottle?

You will have to ask Townstreet but I do know their [Aulds]  pasties and sausages are top notch !

What a nice scene Robin! I've often wanted to try the Townscenes range but the lack of a web presence puts me off as I like to see colour photos of what's available. So it's very useful to see something like this.

Quite apart from that I really like the way you've staged the cameo - nothing dramatic (which is also how I personally prefer it) but clearly there's a subtle little story here :-) George is especially realistic, I think. I have the top half of Mary used on a composite figure (very weird thing to say!).

Very atmospheric. But I wonder, should I add a Rhino?

Most definitely not.

Mikkel.Have you got a copy of their catalogue as quite a few of their products are shewn in it.

Hi Rob, no recent catalogue. I had one when they first began but nothing with photos.

On the subject of hoofed animals: Is that a charging bull coming down the pavement in the background of the first shot, or is this a very strong whisky I'm drinking?
