North British D6123 Paint
I am very glad I took the time to make more changes.
The body is in the home stretch now, detailing has begun again, a touch-up will be needed, but she's getting close to right... B)
The nose end door is a scribed outline with a centre scribed divider. Four hinges are really the only prominent feature of the door, bits of plasticard have been glued in place to represent the hinges. The door etch that had been previously applied looked nice, but it did not resemble the prototype doors...
There were a couple of body side grill hinges that got in the way of the sherwood green stripe. These have been removed as has the heavy rain strips over the cab door. It will be easy enough to touch the paint up.
The etched bits that had been previously applied were drawn across some fine sandpaper and reapplied to the nose. More often than not on the prototype, the head code disks were folded the wrong way exposing the light fixture underneath. Without a suitable casting to simulate the light fixture, they are all closed the right way on the model. The etched brass circles that represent the marker lights are passable, but it would have been nice if something better was available...
