All Change

-missy-

Hello :)

After much consideration I have decided not to continue posting details of my modelling and stuff on RMWeb so this will be the last post you will see from me here. If there is anyone out there in RMWeb world that has even a slight interest in my modelling and things then join me on my other blog here...

http://modelopolis.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/all-change.html

I havent decided what I am going to do with my blog on here but I am considering deleting my RMWeb account in the near future.

Thanks for all the support you guys have given me in the past and I hope to speak to some of you in the future.

Julia :)

Aww...  :(

I've really enjoyed your blog posts, comments and input to other threads Julia.

I'll take a look at your other blog and hope that things go well there.

Regards, Andy

As with the comments above, it will be a great shame not to see your work here on RMweb Julia. However, new blog duly bookmarked!

It will be a great shame Julia, I've been enjoying reading your posts here. Just checked out your blog and will be checking in regularly.

Best regards,

Very sorry to hear of your decision, Julia. I don't comment on many of your entries here but I can safely say that I've enjoyed them all and been inspired by many of them. I'm sure you have good reasons but at least RMweb provides a single place to find much interesting material. I've bookmarked your external blog but I'm afraid that, whether through idleness or forgetfulness on my part, I rarely get around to looking at many of the excellent individual blogs that are out there.

Arcs of engagement with RMweb do depend on a whole bunch of individual and personal things, but my residual feeling about such disengagements is always that good material shouldn't get lost into the ether. It would be good if your Modelopolis blog referenced this general index  (i.e. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/blog/220-highclere-2mm-finescale/). I'm not sure what happens to the content of an RMweb blog if a user deletes their account, but if that content is in danger of disappearing, it would be useful to transfer it over to the new place.

Best wishes.

Although I've bookmarked your new/old blog I do hope it will appear on the 2mm site to remind me to look. Always inspirational I'm sure a lot of RMwebbers will miss it, whatever scale they model in.

Echo the sentiments about losing your blog and the exquisite and often innovative work shown. ISTR that your station building was the first reference to DIY engraving the brickwork which I had seen.

I don't know of another blog here on RMweb which gets more comments, you will be missed!

It seems that blogs belonging to deleted accounts do disappear. I hope that you have copies of all your input so that it can, if you need to, be reproduced in your new blog.

Similarly I assume that, with the notice just given, that your 2mm followers (and a fair few others!) will be rushing to down-load the your blog content.

Best wishes

Don

Oh no, not another one.  I know better than to try and talk you out of this regrettable decision but, whatever the reason, it's a great pity.

Julia, I'm very sad that your feelings have brought you to this decision - the loss is ours but I wish you luck in the future and thank you for your inspiration in the past!

Kind regards,

Jock.

Nooooooooo!

I would urge you to stay a member Julia, even if to only occasionally pop in and see what others have been up to.

Been a while since we caught up (partly because I moved up North) but I always enjoy chatting and putting the World to rights when we meet up at exhibitions. I'll be bookmarking your blog and will hopefully bump into you soon.

Cheers,

Jason

Julia,

I'm truly sorry to see you go from here and can but echo the many sympathetic and positive remarks about your modelling and contribution to RMweb which have already appeared above.  I'm in the fortunate position that I will at least continue to meet you and see your exquisite work at various shows in our part of the world so my loss is perhaps not as great as that of some others.  And hopefully you will be at Steam on the Sunday which is my day for visiting there this year.

So very sad to see you go, hope to have time for a chat at Swindon.  Best regards and good wishes for the future

:( Agreed with all that's been said.

When I first joined RMWeb in 2007, I recall there was only Kris, Bryn, Mark and yourself flying the 2mmFS flag and you all made me feel very welcome in the 2FS world - your work has been an inspiration ever since.

Will have a nose at your link now...

Shame really - if you are going to make the effort to write a blog at all, it makes sense to me to make it available to the widest possible audience. With a personal blog there is little chance of anyone other than a small, dedicated audience ever being aware of it, never mind remembering to read it.

The Birmingham New Street blog was another great one on here, but once it left RMWeb, I wonder how many still follow it.

I suppose the thing that counts most of all is the models themselves, which I hope to see on the exhibition circuit from time to time - or maybe in the 2mm Magazine.

It's your decision, but it does seem a great shame.

Julia,

I can only echo the sentiments of everyone who has posted above me.  Your postings about Highclere and what was now possible in 2FS were one of the deciding factors for prompting me to return to the fold!  Thank you.

I will continue to follow your exploits on your other blog, I had it bookmarked anyway but since it tended to repeat your RMweb postings I didn't tend to look in very often - I will do now!

Kind Regards,

Ian

I've always been extremely impressed with what you've achieved in 2mm. I've bookmarked your blog and will follow it with interest.

Hi Julia, I'm on my way to your new blog - but I agree with Miss P: Hope you find a way to keep some of the content you made here on the web somehow. Thanks for all the inspiration so far, and long live the DN&SR! :-)
