Well, another new item of stock appeared last week, a very nice J Class tank. I suspect Mike was very disappointed it was withdrawn before MT black livery was introduced though... :)

Track laying is also preceding apace, the second board is mostly finished, and the third board well underway. Here, you can see Richard, (the new boy), Mike, Simon, and Mark hard at work. In the foreground you can see the TTU, (Tethered Testing Unit), Mike's re-wheeled Jinty chassis hard wired to a controller that allows for testing the running qualities of new pointwork without all that fiddly wiring nonsense.

Hopefully, on the next update, you will be able to see the beginnings of the scenic boards.

Sorry folks, I rather forgot about this blog! I'm not sure who's kit the J is, I'll ask Mike next week for more details, but I remember he was very complimentary about the way it went together.

 

The TTU is now new and improved, the body is back on and it has a tiny two pin connector unobtrusively mounted, so it can be used as normal as well.

The J class is the Ace kit (the Langley kit is the L class Baltic) - Mike is doing one and one day I will get round to doing the other one. There were some pics of it on the old site http://www.rmweb.co....art=100#p497999

before it was very nicely painted.

 

Not the easiest of kits I understand, but Mike has certainly made his usual nice job of this one.
