HI all,

Not sure where the time is going these days, well I do but that's something i can't talk about.

I'm not sure where i am up to with pictures etc so if i post something that has already been up i do apologize (its been some very very long days recently.)

You may remember the hopper i have been on with, well its now about to hit the paint shops.

A neat job on an awkward kit. I've built three so far, one for myself and two for a customer, and can honestly say that it requires a fair amount of work, but the results are worth the effort.

But, and I've said this before, its not a Summers wagon but an ICI one despite what the packaging says. The body is higher and longer than on the Summers wagons, check the position of the end of the hopper against the bogie pivot point for example.

One worthwhile improvement is to substitute Cambrian brake wheels for the flat etched ones supplied.

It'll look great once painted.

Hi Halfwit,

Many thanks for you comments. I have to agree that it's not the easiest kit to build when you have to cut a side off, reposition it and then cut the base floor of the hoppers so the side is correct.

I think the problem with the body may be down to the designer/drawer of the etch art work making the body too tall and too long after all I wouldn't be surprised after having to do the mod above with the floor.

I worked from a book that the customer provided, the name of which escapes me with some very good photos and information in it.
