Due to a change of family circumstances we will be scaling back our business. While this means that we will be reducing the number of shows that we trade at, until thing settle down, we are not closing down and we are still developing new products. We will be attending Telford this year but after that we are not able to commit to going to shows, in 2019, at this point in time. Hopefully we will be able to confirm some show dates in 2019 but these will be reduced in number. In addition to the shows that we attend as traders we will still be attending shows with our layout, "Lowick/Scratchy Bottom". In the mean time our products will still be available mail order or from our "Shapeways” site and our design service will still be available at £20 p/h.

 

Also as most of our kits are limited additions, usually 30 wagons, once the current production runs are sold we will not be reintroducing them. Some kits have now already been withdrawn. Once they are gone they are gone!

 

Most new products will be introduced as "Selective Laser Sintered" or as ready to run. This has the added advantage as this production method is more environmentally friendly, as there is no plastic waste. Please note that "Selective Laser Sintering" is not 3D printing as it produces a very strong, but flexible, high definition product using a laser to fuse plastic powder were as 3D printing uses the technology used in an inkjet printer, to deposited molten plastic which give a low definition finish which can be very fragile.

Oh bum, I can understand why you carry limited stocks, but some of your long listed stuff is on my “get it when you’ve saved up enough” list, still best wishes for your personal goings on. In the meantime, can I vouch as a disinterested party that the sintered laser production method does give an excellent surface finish on the items you’ve showed me at shows, much better than some 3D production methods from other sources.

We are not closing down but the space we have in the house is going to be reduced and the time I'm able to put to running the business is going to be reduced as well. Which wagons were you after?

I ain’t committing on which ones as I don’t want you hanging around waiting for an eighty year old to save up and phase in with lots of other unfinished jobs. I’ll pester you when I can make it, roll on Telford.
