Track weathered with an almost black wash, was using my dirty enamel jar, then once dried a brown was dry brushed in between tracks and edges. It is a bit patchy and could do with more work here and there yet I don't want to over do things. Some areas need a bit extra ballast too.
Anyway, track cleaned and it still works!
This for me is a railway modelling mile stone.
No seriously, it is the first time (other than the P4 layout that used Normon Solomon ballasting method) I have ever completed the ballasting stage using the so called 'traditional method' where the track has not warped into a banana. So very pleased. Cork and Card both warped on me in the past so this time I used Basswood as a packing/underlay medium. Likely will use it or Plywood again based on this.
I will soon be doing the next Norramby vlog showing me ballasting etc.
Platforms are the Kestrel ones apart from the far left section and slope that I 3D printed. The white strip was painted with masking tape and the bricks are plastic card overlays cut to shape and painted after fitting.
Any thoughts?
Apart from the turntable and lights in buildings and scenic extension with fiddle yard the creative stuff can start now.
