Sad news

This is Tim, the Domestic Overlord. Paul died last Wednesday. I wasn't in the right frame of mind to come on and post this before. We were together for a long time, and I know just how much he loved modelling and loved being able to get things just as he wanted them. I'd like this blog to stay up here if that's okay by the administrators.

My condolences Tim.

Pauls enthusiasm always showed through his own modelling blog and he always contributed thoughtfully and generously to the blogs of others.

He will be missed by those of us that frequent the forums.

Dave.

Very sorry to hear that, Tim. As Dave says, Paul was generous and kind in his comments to others and his presence here will be missed.  Best wishes to you at this difficult time.

I am very sorry to hear that Tim. My condolences.

I did not know Paul personally but his posts and comments were full of humour and I always looked forward to his updates, both for the modelling and for the way it lifted my spirits.

I have had a little trip down memory lane and found some posts that illustrate his work. I was impressed at his tenacity when he recently began lining his locos with his alternative hand:

We did not often get distance views of Foster Street on here, but when we did you could see the extent of the layout:

The new layout Lugsdale is on a separate thread and was a favourite of mine:

You will be missed on here Paul.

Thank you for posting, Tim.  I only knew Paul through his posts here but a great personality shone through.  You must miss him very much. My condolences for your sad loss.

I am so sorry to read this news. Paul was a top man. I met him when he brought his layout to the Weston on Trent Model Railway show, he attended more than once. My thoughts with Tim and all others who were close to Paul. A sad loss.
