A gap filled in.

Scenic work is not something I am very good at, but there we are a gap filled. I wanted it to look like one of the old estates that got enveloped by the progress of Glasgow to the west but has yet to be developed. The  result is some lengths of very old boundary wall in some odd locations if you dig about in the area.

Anyway, it fills a gap.

If you are going to have a gate, you might as well have a working one.

Modelling time will be a bit restricted for the next few weeks, house decoration is needed. I’ll be overcome with emulsion, as they say.

Stephen, he's having a daft moment

I like the low wall. They often seem to work well on layouts, I suppose because they divide up the scene and add depth, whilst not obstructing the view too much.

I shall now reveal my ignorance: What is the pink object next to the stops on the right hand side of the first picture?

We could have a competition!

I say horse trough. Any advance on that?

Heh , yep it is a stone  horse trough , Langley castings I think.  It will get replaced since a yard like this would tend to have a sheet metal trough and a simple standpipe.  A bit posher than the coal sidings which just have a standpipe and some buckets.

Please give a shout if you come across a convincing ready-made standpipe. I've made one myself for my stable block, but am not very satisfied and ideally I need a few more.
