Hello,

I am building a loft layout based around the SDJR between Sturminster Newton and Broadstone.

I enjoy modelling and photography and hope to share my layout if anyone is interested.56539059_IMG_2728(2).JPG.3b52df8923cd45fcd51c5d3ecfad015d.JPG

Just started Sturminster Newton, a bit short on space TBH but will go with what i have.

Going to be using old kits for the station build, Peco, Wills, Dapol, Airfix etc.

Old school and should be fun.

This is my terminus based on Broadstone, lots still to do here. This was originally Swanage but it could not cope with my intended traffic, so was extended, goods yard added and access to MPD.
Note how the Metcalfe platforms have shrunk in the summer heat causing the fencing to warp. I am trying to find a good way to make platforms, any tips?IMG_2772.JPG.80165526bd18192e97cf13cc0ad75895.JPG

Paul,

Try the Peco brick station and their platform shelter/shed kits for Stur, not perfect but better than others.

Thats exactly what i have done Jack, plus a Wills kits stone water tower and Dapol signal box. Total cost less than i paid for Bachmann Shillingstone station building from the North Dorset Railway Trust, but at least that money went to a good cause.

I do read the Child Okeford blog and take some inspiration from it, thank you.

Paul.

As its a lovely summer Saturday tomorrow, heres Combe Martin and Blandford Forum (Hornby) on the up and down Pines. I only run these on a Saturday but get them set up the night before as something usually goes wrong with them.
