Metcalfe Viaduct on a curve...

If you've ever thought of incorporating a curved viaduct to your layout, I describe how I went about adapting the standard Metcalfe Viaduct kit (PO240) to create such a viaduct on a progressive curve with a gradient.

In real life, curved viaducts are actually constructed as a sequence of straight segments which makes life easier as the arches don't taper.

Hi Alan, thanks for your comment. I wasn't aware this was the case in curved viaduct construction. I did plenty of research before hand and study numerous photos (including this one) that didn't appear as if the bridge was made up of straight segments. However, I wasn't attempting to be prototypical, it's more about achieving a general look.
