I’ve just bought a workbench loco cradle from Proser in Germany. Nice thing, very useful, simple effective design. Should have bought one long ago!

Looking at the loco in the cradle, a Pennsylvania K4S by MTH, it strikes me that it is quite a good illustration of the superior appearance of the larger front pilot wheels generally fitted by MTH, compared to Lionel.

This is what the Americans refer to as a “scale size” loco, full size1:48 dimensions, but it will still negotiate the O31 curves common in tubular track.
