It has been noted that Soddingham has a mixture of somehow Midland looking brick structures and stone for the engineering side of things. Further research has shown that original earthworks were undertaken by the Thasteephill & Watbrakes Railway Company that went insolvent after the Foreman lost sixpence at a game of cards. Construction was completed by a bloke called Frank, who happened to have a job lot of red bricks going spare, on behalf of the Pennipincher & Cheapp Railway. No evidence has been found connecting this with the disappearance an entire train of bricks from Stoke at about the same time. Neither has any connection been found between the use of red bricks and a bottle of Railmatch Dark Brick Red happening to be on the shelf.

As an aside, someone has posted a ruck of BR era videos (from film) on Youtube put out by BR over the years. One shows the procedures for dealing with an in-section derailment, it being set at Ayelbury on the WR - the box is exactly like the one above. Well, it does have a stove chimney unlike the above yet.
