Ballast And Clay.

With no tree stuff yet, I've made a bit of an effort on the ballasting and claying front. Neither are overly spectator orientated activities, the ballasting progresses which is a Good Thing, but I've also clayed up what I'm calling the 'parcels' siding. It's called that because the end is going to be a parcels platform - because I want to have a couple of BRUTE trollies I found a kit for. It's also a general siding of many years standing and the ash ballasting has basically converted to rather solid mud, pretty much to rail height. The 'outside' of the rails will have cork to rail level while the 4 four foot I've done with clay. This would have been amazingly tedious were it not for the pallet knives from The Works I mentioned earlier, once I got in the swing of it it was a lot quicker that doing in 'by hand' like I did at the south end. It will have few bits of 'stuff' added before painting, but photo's show this sort of thing being remarkably smooth and unobstructed. Progress on this siding is now dependent on some more cork arriving.

The improbable barrow crossing is coming on nicely . These stirrers I bought are actually better than McDonalds ones, cutting the diagonally actually works (the McDonalds ones tend to shatter so to speak, different wood I guess) to get ramps.

And the Warship comes out of it's corner for the first time, and met it's first set of points. Well, ok, I pushed it. But it didn't derail ;-) Looking a bit sorry for itself these days.

With ballast and cork in short supply, attention is now focused on the remaining signalling etc (I'm still finding ways to avoid getting underneath and doing the lighting wiring).
