New kid in town…

Evening all,

Hopefully a productive modelling bank holiday has been had this weekend.

Just a quick update to share that my Heljan class 37 arrived last week and it’s been well worth the wait  Whilst in reality the loco would never been seen at Wenford it will only make an appearance at home or maybe the last 15 minutes at a show - Rule No.1 :D

A big thanks to Lee Edmondson of Lee’s locos who not only managed to source the 37 late last year (when everywhere else it seemed sold out) but has also numbered it, detailed it, weathered it and installed the sound. The sound is LegomanBiffo and it certainly captures what I remember from these beasts!

Lee has done an awesome job working from photos that I sent him and he was a real pleasure to deal with - really helpful too.

So the back story is, that it’s actually 37412 primarily for my future 7mm Kyle layout however a few Large Logo class 37’s were transferred down to the West Country 37412 and 37175 being two of them. Hence the interloper…

Much fun has been had shuffling the odd wagon around the sidings with it…no complaints from the neighbours yet…but blimey it’s loud :O

Unfortunately I can’t load the other photos I took as they keep coming in upside down

Here’s a link to a short video of the start up…hopefully this works!

Pete,

I think I'm about to have a sudden attack of envy. Very naughty of you to post these enticing photos!

The Heljan I grew up with were not capable of this kind of model. Times have changed. Even so, Lee's work seems to have improved it further.

I always edit / crop my photos prior to uploading on here (now using an iPhone, which I think is what you have) and no-one has complained to me about neck strain yet.

I have tried to access the start up video - youtube requires me to "sign in" to confirm that I am approved to see the video....  why?

Thank you for changing the You Tube permissions, I have accessed the link.

An excellent video, a great advert for a 7mm Cl.37/4 model, sounds very nice indeed.

How can anyone stop at just one example?

regards, Graham

That 37 is making me want to give my BR Blue one an airing - I haven't started detailing & weathering it yet.
Great to hear you're still inspired. That 37 will add more impetus to your modelling mojo :)
Looking great matey!
