Donw - I have added a rather cruel trackside view above as I couldn't quite fathom how to add in a picture to a reply!...I could put in a small curved fillet, but its going to get messy and I am trying to limit all the extra little pieces to go in the box file.

 

The option option I am pondering is to leave the return end off and not attach it...but I do like the way it wraps around to enclose the scenic section and then does the opposite to enclose the fiddle yard end.

I will check the prototype photos - I don't think there is much at the end of the platform before the harbour wall.

 

Will keep it a right angle until last minute and then decide whether to include the return or leave it off.

 

Mind you, I see that Volcanic ash cloud has closed BCN airport again...so perhaps I won't be flying it in to UK next Friday afterall

it looks so much better at track level so I would leave the end piece on. Ideally the layout should be exhibtited at a high level ( always best for 2mm) or at least allow the viewer to get that track level view. For me that picture has the right atmosphere.

Donw - Thanks - agreed about the height issue...although this layout has been provided with a table by the Exhibition organisers as I couldn't quite work out how to get the legs in the boxfiles...its a great thought though...a boxfile layout with its own self contained leg structure...hmm...maybe next year
