Motion support/Weighshaft mods

I've been fiddling with the motion support bracket over the last few nights. This little job has proved far more difficult than first expected due to the fact that it sits more over the #2 driver than a 9F and 9F's have smaller wheels!

I have had to solder in a section on top to re-inforce the bracket due to the large amount of material needed to be filed away from the vertical faces to clear the wheels.

So here it is, still with over long .7mm wires ready for all the fittings later

You will notice some frame material had to be removed too to allow the new horizontal face to drop below the top of the frames.

Here's a shot showing just how much NS had to be filed away to clear the wheels

It would have been much easier with a Brit version methinks, but to buy a seperate Motion set just for the motion bracket would have been a cost too far

UPDATE:

Apart from the counterbalance spring housing on the RHS of the weighshaft the bracket is done until I build the motion onto it.

It's now screwed in place and extra bracing has been added at the rear to make it look more "designed" rather than a modified 9F item

My apologies for missing these updates, I have been away of late. The whole locomotive is looking, frankly, stunning. No other word for it. :)
