Yet more progress today...

But first, some pictures of the layout with backscene held up by a willing volunteer!

I'm hoping to have the backscene free standing once I work out how to achieve this.

Dad has very kindly fixed the traverser fiddle yard onto the layout. This means that the traverser top can slide over the control panel supports which should save some space. The traverser was originally built for MkI but rebuilding it slightly has meant it is easier to operate albeit still not very smooth! Never mind...

Also, some of the quay walls have been attached and the tops and bottoms smoothed over with more DAS to get rid of the joins:

Hi Jam,

 

Looking good. You will need to fill in the DAS between the sleepers to get a nice smooth finish. (may be a case of grandmothers and eggs but thought I'd mention it just in case)

Hi Matt,

 

Thanks smile.gif I wasn't sure whether to completely cover the sleepers or leave the tops of them bare. (I've just left it as a mess at the moment!). I gathered this section wouldn't necessarily be infilled so I was thinking about a kind of sandy or weedy overgrown section (I'd paint the DAS a yellowy colour).

 

Still undecided (there's a change!)
