37423 in DRS Compass livery

Hello all,

My first foray into the crazy new world of RM Web! I will be unable to retrieve my old postings I think, as I don't have access to a PC - just an Apple Mac. If anyone wants to help me retrieve it - let me know!

Anyway onwards and upwards.

Here is the latest DRS loco to come off the production line, 37423 ???Spirit of the Lakes??™ in DRS Compass livery. It features new resin cast nose ends and new etched top lights. It also has full detailing at both ends.

I have been experimenting with a bit of tripod based photography! See what you think of the results.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers,

Andi.

Hiya,

37423 looks excellent just like the prototype, ive seen it many times over last few weeks around Derby, its usually in the company of 'Caroline' the inspection saloon...is that next on ur list lol.

Guess I will have to ask the oblivious question,

What's the source of the resin nose ends? Look pretty good!

Great work andy, and i would always recommend a tripod, one for stability and two if you have to set it up you think of compostion so get a better picture. :) Are they steve's transfers or your own?

Hi Andi,

That looks great! I was keen to see the new noses and I am well impressed - very neat finish on the livery as always! Glad you got a Blog up and running - will need to find some time to get mine going soon!

Are the noses some of Pete Harvey's new ones? They look great... Not sure I like the gloss finish though, it makes the model appear a lot more toy like some how.

Indeed they are James! I'm not a massive fan of the gloss finish either, but then again it is always clean so i didn't think anything else would work somehow. Perhaps a mix of satin and gloss would be better.
