Brewhouse Quay: This is what happens when the over ambitious new kid upsets the union shop steward - especially as they have a car, something that few of your working men at the time could afford to buy, suggesting some sucking up to the management or such.

The real reason for this post is that early today I bought out Addlestone Model's entire stock of Peco barrels. They had 2 packs.

These come moulded in some kind of reddy-brown colour, so a quick blast with various Halfords primers make a fix which looks fine from a normal viewing distance. The design looks a little like a modern metal cask, but I'm not going to worry about that for normal viewing. The ends were already painted red, probably by little Chinese person and by hand. I decided to keep the colour on the ends. If my name was Pendon or I was an armchair modeller I'd have the type of ale chalked onto the end of each cask of course. I'm not either.

If all that took was some halfords primer (grey and black I guess) then that's excellent. Yes, they look good, even close up

Next time they are available try and obtain some of the Bachmann barrels, they are made of wood and look superb! Also the EFE "loads" have barrels in two sizes, plastic, but come up nicely with a dab of paint.Cheers,Peter C.

Reminds me of a time when on a training course one person was particularly anoying. His buble car was lifted down several sets of steps into a corridor.

I have used many “unhealth” and safety methods to get under cars in the past, but never beer barrels, I suppose you need to empty them first.

Once saw a foremans Relliant Robin on top of a coal dump in work. It was poised beautifully on the summit of a 50 foot dump. Apparently he and the crane driver had had words!

And 2 pals once up-ended a Relaint Robin onto it's back door in a blokes drive way. He used to wash it every Saturday and then give it a coat of exterior gloss paint on the Sunday - every week! Was rather heavy with all that gloss.

Oh Matron!

You are awful.... but I like you!
