A brief posting to illustrate my photoplank that's had the ballast finished up to the retaining wall... and some foilage added where appropriate. The "men" have been repainted in a 1970s garb and my two TTAs have been fitted with 3-links, brake pipes, re-identiifed and weathered. This will do for now. [Edit: more on the TTAs through http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/35440-black-tta/page__p__376744__fromsearch__1&do=findComment&comment=376744]

If you want to see this in the flesh i'll be exhibiting them at the Burgess Hill model railway club 60th show (May 14). The P4 Deltic will also be on show - although this remains a work on progress and I'll update on the fuel tank mods once I've completed the filing cutting and drilling - if I deem it a success at some point in the future - when work/family/time permit me to carry on with this.

I think it looks very effective - the trackwork, ballast and finish is spot on, and tones nicely together. If I had one comment it would be it might be worth using colours that you use in your loco weathering to tie the models and the layout together? The TTAs look great, but wouldn't the chaps be wearing some sort of high vis even on depot back in the 1970s?

Hi James,

The tones comment is something wondered about... and I'll see what I can find to achieve that. I wondered about the colour of the wall... but as I went for metcalf and it was that or engineers' blue, I thought this the better one... scalescenes next time maybe. I did use similar weathering colours but they took differently and possibly need some brake dust to mix in with the track etc... I'll give this some thought. As for the hi-viz jackets, I thought so, but when I went through my Finsbury park book, I couldnt see any hi viz on depot... only when they were out on track working rescues etc... so I remain to be corrected... and will look further.

Thanks for the comments... and for making me think.

Terrific Jon - really look forward to see it soon.

Can't help on the on the high viz - you would have thought so, but its easy to think in todays terms given the 'risk assessment' approach to life...must admit, Spain has a slightly different perception of H+S...which is very worrying.

Back on topic, the plank is pitched just right for me - great colour and tones and just enough lineside detail without being overcooked.

Great work
