Currently on the work bench, a Planet 0-4-0 Diesel from Roxey Mouldings. And here is the white metal kit after basic assembly. A little filling and cleaning up will be required before painting as well as some extra details. The body is just sitting on the chassis, and will be screwed properly into place once painted. It sits on a Tenshodo WB 24.5 'Spud' which makes it ideal entry to white metal loco construction because of the ready to whizz chassis.

This is a small loco, length over buffers is just under 3 inches, and because of this ideal for Brewhouse Quay with its short sidings and tight curves. It will however be as just at home on some of my other industrial layouts. The plan is to paint in the same livery at my recent Austerity tank. I'll be naming this little loco 'Fleur' using plates from Narrow Planet.

That was fast ! though you only picked this up at the weekend.

Reminded me I should get on and build my Planet (a Nonneminstre Models kit)

Are you going to attempt to limit the speed to something approaching realism?

Nice and heavy and subtle use of the feedback controller should do it. I'm not into clever because I don't now how or have the time to care (I'm too busy building stuff).

I believe High Level do a gearbox combination for this kit. I certainly bought a pair of his gearboxes to power mine (in P4). Gordon Ashton has also done one in P4, using High Level gearboxes.

I look forward to seeing the finished article at Railex!

It should be there, and it should look good as one of the loco exchanges for the Burrowbridge Light Railway workings B)

Actually, maybe Borchester who will will be backing onto us at Railex might want to join in the fun...

Looking nice already Chris. Dissapointed that I won't see Combwich together with Enginewood. I am right in thinking that you and the Captain are joining the layouts togetheror did I imagine that? Cheers, Mark

I don't know if its the same model but David Cross has a Planet which he keeps on the Forest of Dean Railway and gets used for construction work.

Nice model as you say ideal for Brewhouse Quay.

Combwich will still be joined to Enginewood (via flying cassette) at RAILEX last time I looked - so you won't need to be disappointed. I will be if drop the cassette with one of CK's lovey engines though..

Planet; I'll check that out - there is one at Bury by all accounts, but decent views on the web are a little ellusive.

'By carefully craned cassette under more H&S Supervision than your worst nightmares' is probably a more apt description!... ;)

I will be dissapointed as I have to go on holiday that weekend which is a SWMBO clan gathering in Welshpool. I can see some railway excursions planned though.
