A first post...

My first foray into blogging on RMWeb, mainly as a way to track the progress of my as-yet unnamed boxfile layout. Progress is likely to be slow, so don't hold your breath!

As a teaser, I've added a few photos of progress to date.

Thanks both!

The plan for the setting is the subject of another blog post! In essence, something industrial, possibly the sort of sidings you'd find near a docks - that will let me run the varied mix of kit built wagons I have.

The points will initially be operated using the 'giant hand' system. I may put in push rods underneath at a later date, though. There are holes underneath to accommodate this.

The two scenic boxes are permanently attached by being screwed to two strips of wood underneath. (The join was then covered with a strip of paper before painting.) The fiddlebox (is that word?) is assumed to be on the same flat surface, and is held to the scenic section with a couple of magnetic bag clasps, which are non-structural but do allow precise alignment. That's probably confused you, so I'll add some photos, hopefully next week or weekend.

Musdt stay away from the boxfiles... Must stay away from the boxfiles... Gawd this approach is catching!
