This is how I have planned my new layout to look.

There will be some changes along the way I think.... :-)

I have designed it to include my current layout along the left side.

The size is nice to fill with landscape. The room is 6.5 x 4.5 meters.

The possibility to have a decent sized harbour is really exciting!

Almost true to scale liberty ship maybe? :-)

Looks like an effective layout - lots of scope for operation, with the barge traffic extending the possibilities. I always have like U.S modelling and this looks to be a good'un!

Looks like it would be a lot of fun to operate, and the intersecting curves on the harbour approach are really attractive. There are a couple of spots (around the roundhouse, along the top right) where you have vertical separation and quite a bit of track, do you think there's enough room for the retaining walls, banks, etc.?

Agreed, but would it not make sense to complete the triangle with a straight line across the top where the small building is drawn? This would add the possibility of useful reversing and propelling moves into the dock area.

Smashing. I think the second version looks much more of a piece. I especially like the dock/car float area. I've said it before, but there's something about railways and water.... nice job; I look forward to seeing it take shape.

Cheers
