That's fantastic particularly the lining!  Can I ask what colour you use for the gold lining?

Glad to see that you are restoring the old photos Dave. If done systematically and piecemal it's not that much of a bother, I find.

It's also a good opportunity to admire your  stock once again. I often end up in your pages during internet searches, and it's always an inspiration.

(Strange by the way that there were no comments to this post at the time. Perhaps they have gone lost too. Or perhaps we were all too stunned to say anything 😄).

PS: I've sometimes wondered if it's a coincidence that both Slaters and Ratio have done a U4 (in different scales of course).  IIRC the U4 was one of the survivors in a latter-day Welsh workman's train, so perhaps someone took detailed measurements at the time, and these have been shared?

PPS: Although the Ratio U4 is in fact a little too long as it uses the S9 underframe.

I've answered my own question by reading your next subject on the all 3rd where it is detailed!

Thanks Mikkel🙂  Yes it’s no real hassle re-uploading the pictures as long as you know where to find them! I’m reasonably organised, but I’m sure I won’t be able to find them all🙂  It’s more of a shame that others have contributed photos in response to questions that I’ve asked in the blog and I’ve no way of reinstating those🙄

Internet searches are funny things! Before I built the layout if you googled Sherton Abbas all the links took you to the Thomas Hardy appreciation society,  now it links you to my train set😆  I’m sure Thomas Hardy would be furious!

I don't think I posted any pictures to this blog, but I do plan to revisit some attachments history and fill in some gaps.
