    10th September 2019 South Hants Area Group meeting.

    The next meeting will be held on Tuesday 10th September from 7.30pm at the South Hants Model Railway Club clubrooms, Fort Widley, Portsdown Hill Road, Portsmouth PO6 3LS
     
    The Meon Valley Railway

    Dennis Tillman will be talking about a line that has always been local to him, The Meon Valley Line. Dennis will be happy to discuss any aspect of this line, his book “The Meon Valley Railway Revisited” or other LSWR Railway matters.

    Tea/coffee and biscuits will be available at the meeting.
     
    At the end of the evening members are invited to join the Portsmouth lads at a local pub just down the road before they go home.
     
    The meeting is open to all, whatever scale and standards you work in.

      Scotland’s biggest Model Railway exhibition returns for its 54th year.
      The event returns to the SEC venue in Glasgow, Grant Thomson from Clyde 1 and special guests will open the show at  10am on Friday 21st Feb
      Model Rail Scotland – 2020 will take place on Friday 21st , Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd February at Hall 3 of the Scottish Event Campus Glasgow and bring together over 50 model railway layouts representing a wide range scales and eras.
      The exhibition is ‘supported’ by Hornby Hobbies, Bachmann Europe, Peco and Squires Tools who will be present to  show their latest range of products in addition a diverse range of trade exhibitors are participating accompanied by society and railway interest groups which will provide an excellent selection of exhibits for both the experienced and inexperienced in the hobby.
       
      A large number of layouts will be making either their first ever appearance at Model Rail Scotland or visiting a Scottish exhibition for their first time.

      RISEX 2020 Model Railway Exhibition

      The whole of the Community Centre in Princes Risborough is taken over one day in the spring each year. Allowing local modellers to display their layouts and model making.
       
      10 layouts, trade support and modeling demonstrations
       
      Light refreshments will be available including LOTS of HOMEMADE CAKES!

      This is the 9th annual Ebor Group of Railway Modellers show. It is held in aid of York Against Cancer and is sponsored by Monk Bar Model shop. The charity supports the show by providing refreshments. We pride ourselves on offering a small, intimate show, where we display layouts from the club, members and local friends. As well as Monk Bar Model shop we are also joined by other traders and demonstrators.
       
      It is held in Heworth Church Hall, Melrosegate, York, YO31 0RL. Open 10 'til 5 on Saturday and 10 'til 4 on Sunday. £4 Adult, £1 Child
       
      There will be seven layouts:
      Rowntree Halt - OO Gillan and Brown  - O Crioch - EM Rishworth - 2mm Finescale Yorkshire Pennines - N Finlarig Halt - OO Falsgrave Junction - OO

      The Lincoln & District MRC will again be using the Lady Eastwood Pavilion, Newark Showground NG24 2NY for our General Exhibition in 2020. The Showground has plenty of free parking, is disabled friendly and has a cafe on site for drinks & food.
       
      The dates are Saturday 29th February & Sunday 1st March.
       
      £8 Adult
      £4 Child
      £20 Family Ticket (2 Adults & up to 4 Children).
       
      The venue is easily accessible from the A1, A17, A46 and A617.
      As usual there will be a free vintage bus running between the Newark Showground and both Newark Northgate and Castle railway stations whihc have good train connections with L.N.E.R. and E.M.R. See the website for the bus timetable.  www.ladmrc.co.uk

      There will be a good variety of layouts of most scales and gauges, traders, demonstrators and societies. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2020!
