DAY
21 November 2020 22 November 2020
The Committee has met, cogitated, and discussed our forthcoming show in November. Whilst we could manage, just, to put the show on, with a large proportion of our visitors being of a certain age and worried about visiting, we could suffer a large drop in numbers attending. Without numbers, the show would in all probability present us with a loss. I know all of you will be disappointed and some of you not surprised at its cancellation.
It was with a heavy heart that we decided that St Patcham 2020 will not take place. The decision has been taken now so that visiting layouts and traders can be advised well in advance, and we do not have to payout insurance and hall fees.
Next year's show, being in the year of the Club's 50th anniversary, will be an excellent opportunity to show ourselves to the outside world and rejoice the great hobby of railway modelling.
With no show, we are considering the idea of holding a mini show on Club premises on the Sunday of that weekend 22nd hopefully using the station waiting room at London Road, showing our two exhibition layouts. Of course, we will be abiding by whatever anti-covid guidelines are current at the time, and with Southern's agreement! We are aiming to still having our annual sales day this year on Saturday 22nd August, again working within current anti-covid guidelines.
Our 2020 Exhibition will be held on Sat 21st and Sun 22nd November our 42nd annual show.
Open 1000 to 1700 on Saturday and 1000 to 1600 Sunday

Back by popular demand, the third instalment of our widely-acclaimed virtual exhibition is to take place this spring.
Following the success of our second #BigWORshow event in November, which drew more visitors to our website than at any model railway show in the UK – and with such fantastic feedback, we’re excited to announce that our next show will take place across the weekend of March 13-14, 2021.
Like before, the third #BigWORshow will feature a compelling selection of fantastic layouts created by talented modellers. The exhibits will feature N, OO, EM, P4, O, and G scales, with something for all tastes!
Popular features that made the previous show a success will remain, including our live feed, which will be populated with new content at least every 10 minutes!
And that’s not all. There’ll be competitions galore across the two days, practical demonstrations from a variety of talented modellers, plus interviews with some of the biggest names in the hobby.
We’re really excited to welcome everyone to our official opening on Saturday, March 13 at 09:30 GMT for two days of fantastic model railway entertainment and exciting challenges – don't forget to tell your friends. Don't miss it – we'll see you there, virtually, of course!
