After much consideration, we have decided that it is in the best interest of the club & it's members, our exhibitors, traders & the general public to cancel this year's Spalding Model Railway Exhibition which was to be held across the weekend of October 31st & November 1st, 2020.
A large number of the people involved in our hobby are likely to have been shielding to protect their most important health & any kind of distancing required would make exhibition's very different to what we have become accustomed to & would present a fresh set of challenges.
We would have had to shortly commit a large amount of money towards the holding of the exhibition for hotel rooms & other expenses which we, unfortunately, could not guarantee to recoup under the present circumstances.
We will however bring you the 2020 Exhibition virtually where we will have a selection of layouts, demonstrations & a showcase of our trader's product ranges on our website across the weekend of October 30th - November 1st, 2020.
Please stay safe & well. We look forward to welcoming you in person to our 2021 exhibition which is to be held on November 6th and 7th 2021 at Springfields Events Centre.

Padiham's 20th Annual Model Railway Event presents an enjoyable eclectic mix of live steam running, Japanese “N” Bullet Trains, stationary steam engines on compressed air, layouts from “G1” to “Z” gauge (subject to confirmation), two trade stand(s), children's Playmobil area and loads more for both families & model enthusiasts.

Tasty homemade refreshments are available throughout the day in seated area in the main hall.  Three accessible exhibition rooms & toilets on one level.  Disabled visitors may need assistance with the car park access slope if accessible spaces are full.

The chapel car park tends to fill quickly, in which case there's more free parking at Clitheroe Street and Ightenhill Street car parks nearby.

Saturday 7th November 2020 - 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Admission - Adults £4.00, children £1.50

CANCELLED.  It is with regret that we have had to cancel the 2020 Exhibtion, to be held by The Salvation Army in Wickford. We are grateful to the support of Members of Mid Essex MRC.

The Committee has met, cogitated, and discussed our forthcoming show in November. Whilst we could manage, just, to put the show on, with a large proportion of our visitors being of a certain age and worried about visiting, we could suffer a large drop in numbers attending. Without numbers, the show would in all probability present us with a loss. I know all of you will be disappointed and some of you not surprised at its cancellation.

It was with a heavy heart that we decided that St Patcham 2020 will not take place. The decision has been taken now so that visiting layouts and traders can be advised well in advance, and we do not have to payout insurance and hall fees.

Next year's show, being in the year of the Club's 50th anniversary, will be an excellent opportunity to show ourselves to the outside world and rejoice the great hobby of railway modelling.

With no show, we are considering the idea of holding a mini show on Club premises on the Sunday of that weekend 22nd hopefully using the station waiting room at London Road, showing our two exhibition layouts. Of course, we will be abiding by whatever anti-covid guidelines are current at the time, and with Southern's agreement! We are aiming to still having our annual sales day this year on Saturday 22nd August, again working within current anti-covid guidelines.

Our 2020 Exhibition will be held on Sat 21st and Sun 22nd November our 42nd annual show.
Open 1000 to 1700 on Saturday and 1000 to 1600 Sunday

Patcham Community Centre Ladies Mile Road Patcham BN1 8TA

In view of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and the restrictions on social interaction that are likely to remain in place for the next few months, it will not be possible to hold expoEM Spring in its usual format for the second year running. Instead, the EMGS are going online to host a 'Virtual expoEM'. Some of the content is still to be finalised but the plan is to feature video presentations of several 'layouts which never leave home', and a number which appear only very occasionally on the exhibition circuit, in more normal times.
The event will be of interest to all modellers and is free to access – simply go to the EMGS website (www.emgs.org) and follow the links provided.
