Listen please, the old software had security vulnerabilities and needed updating to this version. Work has been done to make it more like the old version than the out of the box version. I'm getting a bit fed up with some people criticising when they don't consider these aspects or read any of the relevant posts about what's going on. Many people have shown a lot of understanding but some just want to shout an opinion. Frankly, that doesn't help one scrap.

As a former computer graphics business owner who worked on a wide range of printed and web-based projects for many years, I can assure everyone that no-one will ever set about a project of this nature for the fun of it. This level of project is never undertaken lightly.
It involves a lot of hard work and a deal of frustration, sometimes stumbles a little on problems that are almost impossible to anticipate and is rarely to everyone's liking on Day One.
Stick with it for a while, make a bit of an effort to learn how it works and then, if you feel strongly about an existing feature or, would like to see a feature added, try making some constructive suggestions. There is a thread for this.

It's about this time on any 'announcement day' that I lose the will to live with selfish, "I'm so clever", pointless posts and comments from people who can't be bothered to read information which has already been provided.

A bizarre form of unsolicited emails today - embargoed DfT press releases and invitation to a DfT event - more suspicious than a Nigerian 419!

Very glad I didn't waste a day of my life to attend their announcement that they kindly extended to me - https://www.railmagazine.com/news/network/government-launches-rail-sector-deal

It only took until 7.30 this morning to get irritated by someone's selfishness. It's going to be a long week!

It's no wonder my wife thinks I'm grumpy.

Next week looks a bit like this -

Yesterday I received the Accurascale HUOs, arguably the finest 4mm RTR wagon we have ever seen and today I have what I believe is the finest, by a substantial margin, RTR 4mm loco the UK market has seen - an interesting week!

Did you keep the box it came in?

I'm going to have to discipline myself; drinking at the desk! At least I can walk home.

Happy Birthday to you; Happy Birthday to you; Happy Birthday to you dear RMweb; Happy Birthday to you. 13 years old today.

The sky's gone all Western Enterprise here.

If there is a greater being who has any control over anything could I just ask for a day without an idiot in it please? You sent me six yesterday, surely some mistake?
-
Sorry for the hour's downtime; Apache down - rather than a Black Hawk.

Tomorrow's filming jaunt for me and Phil involves a story of two graves, corporate cost-cutting and a lot of 'clag'. Where will we be?

Prime numbers of food products in a packet; aside from being odd by definition it's flippin' inconvenient.

One of the most interesting and diverse days in the hobby, £80K of platinum, a Lambo Aventador and a veggie curry with Mr Shron.

Yet to find any platinum in our models but the location we were at (a jewellery manufacturer) had some fantastic tech which could have a bearing on the future of the hobby. The Aventador has nothing at all to do with the hobby but the stuff discussed over a curry has. The curry was the cheapest luxury from the day.

The Grand Tour appears to have taken a rather big poo on Top Gear's doormat. Some of the tent scenes were a bit lame but overall there was some stunning film; the opening sequence where the trio do a Mad Max is quite something.

Seen in a news report; "Police said they did not know if they were investigating what happened".

Sorry for the site outage on Sunday evening, it looks like the server decided to fall over and take ages to go through its restart process.
