  1. Will you have 1 to hear at Model Rail Scotland Charlie? Ta
  2. How on earth did an EM2 fit in a class 25? Same idea as the 37? Cheers
  3. Great. Glad you got it sorted. Now, go and thrash it on your layout.
  4. No, it was removed, and now sits on the fuel tank block. However, on this model,it had a bass reflex in the fuel tank, so luckily it was a usable thickness for the motor to sit on that. Aslong as the motor has enough room to rotate then it will be good enough.
  5. Perhaps yes...a dodgy ruler possibly. It sounds absolutely brutal when it's finished. I had a WD file from legomanbiffo, which has been programmed to the chip. What a masterpiece...though I find it's missing the loud spool down sound that was in his West Highland...the wheelslip makes up for it though.
  6. Well, the 37 I was fitting the EM2 into has now been completed. It's been a long, but very worthwhile exercise...one that I would definitely do again. For those planning to do this, the depth you need to cut down is 11mm. This on first attempt, has resulted in none of the speaker comes hitting the bodyshell. I have attached 2 pictures that people can use as references. I took plenty of pictures during the build...to many to post here. The loco was originally a 21 pin PCB...so modification of this meant that it took a lot longer to wire up. If you ever plan to do it, learn from me...8 pin harness chips are the way to go!!!!
  7. Great, thanks for the rapid reply. So what you're saying is just to cut that hole in the chassis a bit deeper to make sure it won't hit? I guess you're speaking from experience. Going that bit deeper will resolve the clipping? Also how did you secure the speaker to the chassis? Superglue? Cheers
  8. I'm currently about half way through the fitting of an EM2 inside a 37. My goodness the cutting needs to be big! And deep! My dear I have right now, with the body just going on, is that the cones will hit the bodyshell. Is there anyway to prevent this? Also, which end is preferred for the speaker to be at? Fan end or exhaust end? Cheers Andrew
  9. An iPhone 6 speaker, and an EM2...jusy what I asked on another post... As you have first hand experience with doing it, can the highs from the iphone6 speaker be heard clearly? Also did you reduce the volume as to not let the chip overheat with the lower impedance of the speakers? Cheers
  10. Shame, all I wanted was just a slight hint of higher frequencies to give an all round performing sound. I may try it, I just hope there is an automatic cut off for the amp if there's an overload etc
  11. I have long been a massive fan of the EM2's, and I'll fit them in any loco I think will benefit from it. The only niggle, the high end clarity doesn't exist. This weekend I was shown and heard first hand how great the iPhone 6 speakers sound. I wondered if I could use both an EM2, and iPhone 6 speaker. The iPhone speaker is roughly 23.5ohm, and EM2 is 4ohm. Using an online calculator, It gave roughly 3.4 ohms when using both speakers in parallel. If I reduce the volume slightly, will the V4 cope with the less resistance? I assume that the V4 has a cutout as to not damage the decoder. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Andrew
  12. Hi everyone, Has anyone any tips or tricks on fitting an EM2 to a Bachmann 47. A Limited edition one is coming way from Model Rail Scotland in February, and I'd like to get it fully kitted out. Thanks, Campbellad123
  13. Just dropping a picture here to show what happens if it's your first attempt at loading wagons of the weekend, and you don't have much practice before the show....note to self : must do better at Model Rail Scotland 2018!!!
  14. I read above you are now able to send your sound projects for use on the lokprogrammer. Is this a single use write? I have 2 37s and 1 has a Howes and the other had a 37/0 but changed locos and now require it to be a 37/4. Also, how much for this? Cheers
