  1. 60s are brilliant James! Definitely something great about a big T example. Are we going to get a Toton style Class 60 line up? What was your source of yellow paint? I tried railmatch against a Hornby 60 and it looked far too orange but yours looks to have blended in nicely.
  2. Thanks James,dj and rob! Certainly not looking at hijacking your thread James but could you link the stuff you use? Seems quite a few derivates available. I'll be painting my locos in enamel if that matters.
  3. This does look interesting indeed. Is it possible to have a few sample pages uploaded to the forum? I'd generally like to see a high level sample before committing to buying.
  4. Out of interest James, do you have a preferred primer that you put on locos or stock which you're repainting?
  5. Not commented in a while but really enjoying the continued progress on your fleet. Out of curiosity, what did you use to strip your problem loco? I wasn't sure if Matt varnish finish caused problems when trying to take paint etc back off.
  6. Thanks for the reply. I had a look at this but appears to be okay. My other loco runs fine so appears to be unique to this particular one.
  7. My two 56s arrived today, some 2 weeks after ordering and have to say, superb models. The ease of body removal and roof hatch access is so simple but very welcomed. I have one query which I'm sure someone will be able to assist with. When running one of the locos at speed 1 and 2 on my Prodigy system, there is a very obvious jumping of the gears (kangaroo). Is this normal for DCC or is there potentially something else possibly wrong? I'm new to DCC hence the question
  8. I look forward to your updates, keep posting on here, lot of good support in our hobby
  9. My two should hopefully be with me next week, fingers crossed! The images/videos of those who have theirs shows you guys appear to have done such a fantastic job, at reasonable prices. Can we start suggesting the next set....56049 Dutch transrail, 56104 sector coal and 56123 transrail. When is the next batch likely to be released?
  10. Really nice stuff. How many duffs is this you've now done? I'm convinced that You're receiving royalties from Ed burkhart to recreate the entire EWS fleet 🤭
  11. Hattons have a sale on just now, quite a few good prices I feel. Snapped up a few Bachmann Class 40s for £77, quite a few left if of any interest to anyone
  12. Superb weathering on the vans. It's just how I remember seeing them in the late 90s. Look forward to more updates.
  13. Absolutely fantastic modelling, right up my street this era. You're really flying on the kit builds. Look forward to seeing what's next!
  14. Hi all, A friend of mine is currently scanning his slide collection and has come across a shot he took of a class 33/73 double heading HAA type wagons through Eastleigh in the mid 1970s. Would anyone happen to know what this working would have been and where it would be coming from/ going to? It's unclear from the photo if the wagons were loaded with coal or not.
  15. Fantastic progress on all the kits. Do you experience any issues with the two solebars tightening over night as your liquid plastic sets causing the wheel sets to stiffen up? It's a problem I have with kits quite a lot unfortunately
  16. Very interesting modelling. Have you got a chosen route for the motive power of choice?
  17. Thanks for the tips gents, greatly appreciated. Will update in due course after I've tried a few of the methods
  18. 37884 was another centre headcode example with 37698.
  19. Hi, I've been having a look through the various threads regarding building a brick faced wall using for example slaters. I've historically used 2 X 2mm card (glued together) as the "base" material to which I apply the slaters sheets. These walls have always been straight, however, I'm keen to move away from this and start building walls with some form of curve. My query is, what "base" material would be suitable rather than card which becomes a little inflexible for forming curves as the glue dries? Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated
  20. The examples look good, however, I'm no expert. What's the consensus from those with a better eye, are the proportions correct etc?
  21. Not in the market for any of these, however, I think it's only fair to say that the pricing of these are a credit to your business. Keep up the fantastic work and I'll look out for future announcements.
  22. Hi everyone, Thanks very much for taking the time to reply to my query, and of course for all the input. I'll try and provide an update in due course Cheers
  23. Thanks Cameron I was looking at the trader prices for the Bachmann 24 and it comes in around £140 so if Bachmann can align their prices with the Heljan model they'll be in a good position. I'm looking forward to seeing the examples
  24. Good to hear they have been progressing. What's the initial thoughts.... improvement over say Heljan? Shape correct?
  25. Did anyone pick up that Bachmann will have examples of the class 25 available come March. Let's hope it's a winner, I'm waiting to see what they offer before I purchase alternatives.
