It was, Ian, it really was - We're not letting matters lie, as there were a number of mistakes in diagnosis of my condition - resulting in my discharge to a non medical ward while the encephalitis was active and winding up in A&E - in fact I nearly didn't survive - this was over Christmas, so you can imagine what sort of festive season 30747 had. We have raised a complaint and will have no hesitation in seeking legal advice if we don't get a satisfactory response.

Jim’s “out and about with GBRf” thread

Readers of ERs and Night Mail will already know that I spent 10 weeks in hospital with a chest infection (actually pheumonia), was discharged after a week before it was fully cleared, and then readmitted for 9 weeks with pus on my left lung, the antibiotics they used were so strong that they left me vulnerable in other parts, resulting in two bouts of c diff, but also encephalitis, sepis, and a stroke - now recovering at home. I am mainly posting this to let those who are only active here know how I'm getting on and why I've not been posting. Stewart -

Hi Neill, Another WW fan here with a rather similar memory - I can't quite recall how I got into following the layout, but I have now since the first postsand on those days, it was actually possible to view new content at leisure, unlike today. It really reflects the post steam era remarkably well, and many people whom I have shown it to on here can't believe it's a model. My memory of Waverly West is of many years before yours - similar venues - usually just parked ourselves behind the bushes East of Mound tunnel, with a bottle of irn bru (and no real regard to the need for a toilet, I might add) and the motive power was more A4, A3, A1, B1 and various pre grouping locos on pilot - and when the DMU from Glasgow came it, it got a hearty boo. My wife just asked why I'm looking at photos of "old trains" as I am mainly a steam enthusiast nowadays - she was amazed to learn that this was a model -

Variety really does seem to spice the life of your above average GBRF driver -

Two objects? Leebotwood and Marshbrook are opposite sides of Church Stretton and !V31 was Southbound, and 6M76 was Northbound. But we are hijacking Jim's thread now - is there not a thread on here discussing this incident. -

Cheers Jim. I wondered why there were no trains through Ludlow this morning when I went into town. Looks as if things might be on the move again. RTT shows 1W18 running - late, and with two 153s from Hereford as the first Northbound, and 1V42 the loco hauled set as the first Southbound - apparently on time so far. -

That's a funny 66 leading @big jim - but as you say, these locos do get around these days - they don't hang around. -

Never seen the station from that angle, as I have yet to travel from Ludlow to Shrewsbury by rail, but I plan to take the TFW loco hauled sometime soon just for the hell of it. -

So where do you stay overnight Shrewsbury or Bromsgrove? Im guessing that you don't brave the A49 from Crewe every time! Yes, I do recall that now -

Strange thing is that I was underneath Shrewsbury station at the time that you arrived, Jim. I was in the Park and Ride bus heading back to the out of town car park as you arrived - according to RTT which I had open on my phone at the time. We've got to stop not quite meeting like this when you're round here!!!! And hey, that was some late arrival today - about 50 down all the way. -

Should make for a lot better drives up and down the A49 with nothing to hold the traffic up at Onibury - on the other hand, I won't heaar you pass if I'm in station yard in Leominster -

I'm guessing that it was you that held me up at Onibury on the way back from the dump - I just joined the back of the queue when the level crossing opened - about half past eleven. I always seem to get stopped there - and at the Craven Arms crossing, which lies between the dump and the A49 -

Don't resist it - just keep buying there - we need all the model shops we can get nowadays - at least Hereford still has one, unlike so many towns -

Were you running a bit late this morning - I was in the antique centre which backs onto the line, restocking my cabinet about noonish when a quite heavy freight came past going South, I think. Like the new acquisition - never saw the prototype myself.
