About time: only been waiting 8 years for them. Hopefully the 8 shoe underframe from the vanwide will lead to a palvan, plus later vans and conflats.

Welcome news, but about time. I seem to remember it was on the list of models to be produced when Dapol first announced they were entering the O Gauge market. As the BR version appears to be the early version based on a GWR design here's hoping, assuming that the long awaited Vanwide is produced, Dapol will use the underframe from that to produce the later Conflat A with 8 shoe brakegear as well. Recently returned to O gauge after a 20 year break; boy has the availability of RTR improved! I have already started building an 8'X2' shunting layout (boards built, track down and wired) and am now turning my attention to rolling stock. My current dilemma is what is the correct colour for cab numbers on the Heljan 05, as it did not come with any cab number decals. Both preserved 05s I have seen have cream numbers, but IIRC they were white back in the day and those on the model on Ian Futers layout at the Warley exhibition were also white. Can anyone tell me which is correct and confirm my recollection that only some of the later batch of 05s also carried numbers on the buffer beams? TVM Nige
