  1. I imagine it's just a revised tooling to enable another variant. There are still years of potential non-cut cab subjects that can be done.
  2. The above said, I am very pleased with the RTC 31 and the Railfreight Grey 47. I may even take a couple of the latter for renumbering and customising. The grey/blue Pullman is also a very welcome release, but I will have to see the price before committing to that. I have a feeling it will be rather pricey.
  3. When I think about the models I still have on order from 2017 catalogue (47209, 47550, 37068, plus I will probably still order the RF Grey and/or Triple Grey 31 when they hit the shelves), plus those I intend to purchase if Dapol deliver the goods this year (2 or 3 50s, InterCity Exec 86), I can live with my Farish wishlist not being delivered in 2018. This is an expensive hobby and for my era (80s/early 90s) we have been pretty spoiled in the last few years. The only loco I am surprised hasn't been announced for this year is a more standard Large Logo Blue 47/4, unnamed. 47535 is long sold out and was a bit of an oddity being flush fronted at both ends, so renumbering potential was very limited to just acouple of others. I am sure a more standard LLB version would go down well next year.
  4. Railfeight grey 47018 is a very nice addition. There should be a good few renumbering opportunities there. I would have liked to have seen more coach liveries such as MK2s in Provincial/Regional Railways and ScotRail, as well as more BG and GUV liveries from the same era. What about MK2 Aircons and DBSOs? Are they not on the list because they were announced previously, or off the 2018 radar?
  5. A few coach ideas: MK2A various: Provincial / ScotRail / InterCity (BFK) MK1 BG: NSE / Plain Blue / Provincial MK1 GUV: Blue/grey / InterCity Motorail
  6. All good stuff. Must get some Dutch Mermaids ordered.
  7. Class 25/3 Class 40 Disc version BR Blue Class 44/45/46 Class 47/4, Large Logo Blue, unnamed (No flush fronts!) Class 47/0, Civil Engineers 'Dutch' Class 47/4, Provincial 47475 Class 87 Class 90 MK1 BG, NSE MK1 BG, all Blue MK1 BG, ScotRail MK1 GUV, Blue/Grey MK2 BFK, NSE MK2 BFK, InterCity MK2A coaches, Regional Railways MK2A coaches, ScotRail
  8. These look great. Would the Tiphook and Transamerica ones suit late 1980s or are they more contemporary?
  9. 9 x PFA container flats, 4 x Class B Tanks on order. Next up I'll be ordering 3 of these. RevolutioN are certainly producing some excellent wagons.
  10. Thanks very much, chaps. It looks like in the 80s they were mainly 'plain rust' in appearance with TOPS numbering and 'caib' or similar branding, however I do have a BR Blue 27 and Railfreight Red Stripe 26, both of which should look the part hauling these.
  11. Triple and single pack United Molasses tanks ordered. Out of interest, what length rakes did these generally run in and behind what sort of traction? Hoping my BR Blue 27 would be a suitable choice. I would be interested in some 80s departmental versions in future if that could be a possibility.
  12. I will hang on for a BR Blue disc version too. Too much else on my shopping list for the time being, anyway!
  13. That might explain the single 20 I saw running light engine at Stockton around 1989/90, just as I was getting to know the classes.
  14. Whilst I think the real 50015 would have looked better with standard features of this livery (white numbers, black nameplates, depot plaque instead of decal BR logo), it was quite a stunner and I will almost certainly be ordering this one. I remember when I was around 12/13 years old and it had just moved to the ELR I was trying to photograph it at Bury and kept politely asking the bloke hanging out of the cab to get out of the way. I only realised afterwards that it was Pete Waterman. He enjoyed the moment and duly didn't get out of the way, hence I have a photo of the man in his 50!
  15. Is there any decision yet on whether the earlier liveries will be made with the flashing tail light? I hope to order soon but clarification on this would be most appreciated.
  16. Are the transfers all commissions from Railtec?
  17. Some really interesting subjects there. I do not recall Red Star blue/grey BGs or blue/grey GUVs so these are of particular interest. I also look forward to seeing the grey/green Queen Mary brake van once the transfers are all applied. I see you used the colour that they appear to have been painted in before it faded quickly to more of a turquoise.
  18. Excellent concept, layout and selection of stock in progress. I will certainly follow this one with interest having just come across it. In post 63, do I spot a couple of ZRBs in Rail Stores green/grey? If so, what specific colour did you use for the 'green'?
  19. It makes me wonder how the RFD 37/0 is going to sell. I am planning to buy one anyway, as I have plans for a custom job for it. I picked up the Trainload Metals 37/5 and BR Blue 47/7 from Rails as the prices were too hard to resist.
  20. I just ordered 3 x triple packs of the PFAs. Very much looking forward to running these with some late 1980s containers.
  21. I would like to support this project and really like the look of these tankers. I generally model mid-late 1980s into early 90s. I would be most grateful if anyone could advise me of typical workings they may have been seen on in this era, typical rake lengths, livery(ies), etc.
  22. I stand very much corrected. Looks like it had that decal arrangement the first time until about 1982. Thanks for the link.
  23. I'm quite tempted myself, although it is wearing an oddball variation in terms of the cabside arrows, etc. which represents it's post-BR days. It will have to adjusted!
  24. These 2 transfer packs should enable the incorrect MK1 FK to be changed to an InterCity Motorail version: http://fox-transfers.co.uk/scotrail-west-highland-lines-coach-branding-numbering http://fox-transfers.co.uk/transfers/intercity-first-class-catering-cantrail-lining I'm probably going to order these to convert mine. When they wore the '1', were they also on the centre door as well? These photos are good but it is not possible to establish this. https://www.flickr.com/photos/39670739@N05/8961420631/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/davidwf2009/6555033585/in/photostream/
