  1. I've got some Turbot kits on the go now too! Sick of waiting i'll be dead by the time anything comes out that i want so i'll be building my rake which is better as atleast the kit versions won't have the chunky look that rtr wagons do + its fun to do rather than just buying & weathering them up or should i say correcting the yellow stripe atleast before weathering them up!
  2. Hi Matt, That Caboose is definately different / interesting never seen one before barring the yank things! Pics of the Perch looking good too sir, on the mesh would it not be easier to have the wagon supplied with the floor stanchions / gear seperately as then any choice of fine mesh could be used to lay on the floor then of course the parts fitted in place on top? Cheers.
  3. Hi Matthew, Absolutely stunning work sir well done, loving all the projects and can't wait to get some. The PXA POWELL DUFFRYN hooded wagon is mega and will look forward to those also the YEA Perch is a wagon we've all been after for ages so excellent choice there again. Keep up the good work and look forward to more updates. Best Regards.
  4. Excellent Gronky chap, can't beat a good two tone grey shunter:)
  5. Hi Mike, I've been looking at pics and apparently there the MK3's can anyone confirm this please?
  6. Hi all, Can anyone tell me which bogies sit under the SHEERNESS STEEL PXA wagon? I have some spare Bachmann 102T TEA bogies here but i need more sets so was going to get them from S-Kits but i'm unsure which type they are? I thought they were Gloucester MK4 jobbys but there not long enough and don't have the extra points at either end! Heres a link to the wagon any help would great gents PXA Wagon http://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/sheernesssteelpoa/h548481#h548481 Kind Regards Rich
  7. Hi Martin, Thankyou for the info on the wagons it should be very useful and will do, seems strange there not been more on the net but suppose you can't expect to find proper drawings and dimensions of every wagon out there more so now as most of the decent wagons are long gone and not even about to photograph or measure up! Best Regards Rich.
  8. Hi gents, I'm ideally after measurements, dimensions and any kind of scale drawings for the above 3 BR wagons, thou theres plenty of pics online of all 3 mentioned those aren't enough to actually model these wagons to scale in OO Gauge! If anyone has any info or knows a site that does that would be greatly appreciated chaps. Heres three links to the wagons in question... 9. So it was you who won it then Arny! lol my mate bid a lot on it but thought he better stop otherwise the winning bidder is gona be paying thru the roof for it! I'd personally expect it to have sound for that price aswell but hay ho if you wanted it badly then fair enough one question thou did the real one have wonky numbers!?! Thanks Rich
  10. Hi Kev, The Chopper & Rat both look great some nice modelling there, i've also got a model of 25059 with ploughs fitted shes a little beast aint she still with us too! Best Regards, Rich.
  11. Nice as 301 is i'm not the only modeller out there who is tbh geting a bit sick of Bachmann and there "unique" liverys as like 37506 another they chose to do both that and this can't be re-numbered because of there one off features! Still they can be re-numbered if you choose to do a bit of work on the loco's like i'll be doing to the 47301 model but please people at Bachmann can we not have some normal liverys which us modellers can re-number without having to make major alterations too in the process For those wishing to add the "CENTURION" TI painted nameplates to there model this decal/transfer is available from John.P @ Precision Labels & Decals here http://www.precisionlabels.com/class47.html he also stocks every other Tinsley nameplate which they painted on so have a look thru as you may see one which you'd like to turn your 47301 in to or maybe even a 37? As i've done a few using John 's transfers now and there great and add variety to your fleet too Rich
  12. Hi Ian and thankyou sir much appreciated doesn't seem to be many about at the mo but i'll keep searching now I know what to get. Do you know if the wagons would of carried light field guns atall? As they look good but don't recall if i've ever seen these on warflats before? Will look for the Ambulance too think I remember that post now. Cheers, Rich.
  13. Hi Kev, Pics looking excellent as usual sir, ment to ask you i've just completed some warflats and want to add tanks / army vehicles to them all, which would you recommend are best to to go on them? I model late 80's to early 90's so anything in that area would be cool Cheers, Rich.
  14. I won't its not a 37 so i'm not that bothered lol and yeh know what your saying about others think the biggest cockup for me is rails doin vile-trains rfd 47's as ltd editions are they having a laugh? Bet they don't sell atall! On the weathering everything Bachmann to date has been a ryt mare of a job using any of the methods which usually take numbers off easilly just doesn't work on the weathered ones? Will try anyway an see how I get on. On the dutchy duff yeh i've re-numbered tons of the ltd edition model some in to 47/3's 333, tynwald 331 etc... so your probably best geting one of them as next year will be just wat 47's are been released now and hopefully if they actually want to try and sell some models they'll do a nice split box tractor in two tone grey as thats wat everyone wants who I know anyways:) Just ordered a load of 47301's from hattons so that all be interesting as got some nice namers to do also noted she hasn't got the eth gear in the pics so atleast there doing something right but still theres big holes were it should be on the bufferbeam so they'll need filling, nothings ever easy with these guys!
  15. Thats a relief after seeing the hideous pic of it! Still thou it has upside down multi working gear on the headcode boxs + its got eth gear which will definately be on the model knowing Bachmann, when will they ever learn! Also not happy about the two tone grey peky sector one only been available in dcc sound clean finish and the weathered one been dcc ready that means paying over £200.00 if you want to re-number one as there dodgy weathered attempts seem to have the dirt araldited on thus you can't remove the sandy colour nor can you re-number them easilly!
  16. Hi bud, she looks really nice, I like the overall livery and the dirty black on the chassis is perfect nice work sir. Thanks Rich.
  17. Yes definately worthwhile and something to be proud of two! This really is a stunning kit and always will be my favourite wagon:) Bet I know wat the plastic kit is two i'll have a look later see if i'm right? Cheers.
  18. She looks Great Paul good job SIR! This beauty compared to the resin ones well its a huge difference really like this, if decaled up you could near enough get away with the grey colour the original ones were in! Looking forward to your next project now:) Thanks Rich.
  19. Nice update Paul, the bogies look good and proper and I love the idea of been able to move the nem coupling if need be. You've given me an idea now for adding couplings to my wagons like this with brass rather than brass bars sticking out and a downward L on the other side so they couple up superb thankyou for that:) Cheers Rich.
  20. Just been catching up with the layout Peter, all looking superb as always really liking the depot area thou the hole layout is inspiring for me:) more pics please chief. Thanks Rich.
  21. Superb sounds good pics yes please:) and no u didn't but yes can imagine! lol:)
  22. Hi Paul, finally got back on now! Couldn't access your blog till this afternoon, the hoppers looking top all the little extras two very nice. The brake wheels yes i noticed on his O Gauge wagon that they were infact wrong and should indeed be like a press stud! But its better having these fitted than none atall and they have the two little handles sticking out so thats good. Looking forward to the vac cylinders & plate bogies been fitted, the bogies i have here from roxey for my resin jobbys are nice and neat thou do lack any sort of nem coupling attachment which is disapointing and will make it hard work for me! Something you'd expect with them when paying like £8.00 for a set of bogies! Thanks.
  23. Looking good Leon, always like checking in to see how your layouts progressing that bent over guy has had me laughing for a minute or so now so many captions you could put with him think you used the best but like the curry one two
  24. Good Afternoon Paul, the wagon looks amazing ruddy good job SIR! I love those end plates and the neatness of all the side strengtheners two, a very good looking etched kit. The way you've done the vac piping is the same technique i've used on my resin ones and think they look best doing it this way, the 5 amp wire giving it that perfect ribbed look which is a huge feature on any vac braked wagons. Seems a shame to undercoat and paint the hopper now as brass built loco's and wagons do have that display appeal to them this one been no different i've sat and admired your closeup pics for a while now and thought wow if only i could make something this good and neat! Keep up the good work and I can't wait for the next update on this beauty:) Many Thanks Rich
  25. Good Evening buddy, Nice update again shes coming on a treat now, the bogie issue yes could see there been a problem there as thats whats stopped me making my other resin kits here! Gota file or remove the underside before puting it together or it will be harder to do then. The holes I see were your coming from there as like you say you want to build the un fitted wagon and its a summers hopper so why hes done them with holes pre drilled is a mystery? On the vac pipe subject i found it orkward doing my 1st hopper even in resin as i didn't have drill piece long enough to go all the way thru so struggled and didn't help myself by using one hole piece of brass wire instead of using two and joining them in the middle of the hopper needless to say it took me an hour or so to do it with the brass pipe already bent/angled at one end ready to go under the cylinder.
