  1. Not sure on the logos but the trailers have no cabs. The x2100/2200 would run round the trailer at the terminus. What often happened was a power car at each end of a train thus avoiding the necessity to run round.
  2. Contact them providing them with the info in my previous post and that should do it.
  3. Hi Graham, The etch was designed by fellow RMweb member davyjcrow and the thread that I first spotted it is here: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/51508-refurbished-4cep-from-Bachmann-model/&do=findComment&comment=600221 It doesn't look like he has logged in for some time but I contacted him asking about the etches and he gave me the contact details of a company that could produce them. The website is: https://www.ppdltd.com/ The information that was needed was: Email: davyjcrow@hotmail.com Date of order: 14th Nov 2011 Material: 0.2mm stainless steel At the time it cost me £16.20 though this was in 2013 so I imagine it will be more expensive now. I still have the CEP though due to the fact that it was going to cost around £40 to get glazing pieces it has remained unglazed since the photo you see further up the page!
  4. Bachmann Class 108 DMU Ltd Edn for £69.99 from Hereford Model Centre. http://herefordmodels.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=340_350_486&products_id=4775 Has been in their catalogue for almost 5 years and with the price increases over the past few years this must be classed as a bargain!
  5. Interesting to see they still have their Limited Edition 108 DMU for £69.95 which surely with today's prices must be considered a bargain. 39 left according to their page.
  6. Yes they were specific to regions. Regarding X2200 and some X2100, green and white was for Brittany. One X2200 was painted yellow/white for Languedoc Rousillon. A batch of X2200 in blue/white were used on the Tour to Paris service via Chateaudun. The red X2200 were mainly used in the Massif Central region. The X2800 and X2100 units were in a blue/white with grey around the windows which was a general DMU livery of the 80's.
  7. Not sure when, but my recollection of it was coupled up to 83301 and 73205 as the test bed to high speed running on third rail.
  8. I'm interested in seeing how popular the model turns out to be. I have an NSE one on order. If I were to get a 2nd one it would be the blue/grey one with NSE flashes. I can see the research one being the least popular version (due to its limited use) and perhaps the 'modern' blue version.
  9. Taken on the 28th March this year, here is 72179 at Nogent, just about to head towards Paris with the 17:12 ex Troyes.
  10. I sympathise with the cutting up of transfers, it's difficult to line them up and then just when you think you have moved a digit over to the right place, the one next to it moves! Numbers are better than no numbers. 3 of my EMU creations are awaiting numbers having been made a few years ago. As I said earlier I think it looks great.
  11. Apologies for mentioning this as I think the work you have done has been fantastic but was there a reason for numbering the motor coach as S21269, S25720 and S24727?
  12. I am not sure it was from Italy. The coaches were very much German branded. Mike - it was interesting running alongside the TGV line south of Jonzac. Looks ready to go and I see it is due to open at the beginning of July. The new TGVs seem to be ready and we saw a brand spanking new TGV 863 arriving. Here it is with 67523 departing. Out with the old - in with the new!
  13. Just thought i'd share details of a trip made with my brother. The line from Nantes to Bordeaux is one of the few diesel main lines in France and with the introduction of the Coradia units soon, it provided a good opportunity to enjoy some diesel haulage courtesy of the BB67400 class and Corail stock. I had travelled on it twice in the 90's but both journeys had been overnight services. We had ideally decided to work our way from Nantes to Bordeaux with an overnight somewhere to complete the line in one direction with the option to retrace our steps a few times. There are only 3 return trips from Nantes to Bordeaux and a fourth that does the southern section to La Rochelle (there are other services on the line but they are all units.) With the timings and costs for the flight arrivals in Nantes looking costly and late, we opted for a Ryanair flight to Tours. Arrival was at 11:50. We had to be in Nantes by 5pm for our train. The best option was the 12:40 Interloire which was due to be Sybic hauled. After negotiating passport control our hearts sank when there were no taxis waiting! After a tense amount of minutes a taxi turned up at 12:15. The taxi driver understood what we meant when I explained our train was at 12:40 and he floored it to St Pierre des Corps making the journey in 10 minutes. He was duly tipped! So first train of the trip was Sybic 26054 which we took to Nantes. Through the window at Saumur, we saw one of the old A1AA1A 62000 class (I think it was 62036) Arrival at Nantes at 14:17 meant we had almost 3 hours to find a few beers on a very hot day. Returning for our train we were greeted with 67477 and 67576 that we were going to take to Rochefort. We were due to stop at La Roche Sur Yon, Lucon, La Rochelle and the Rochefort. The first part of the journey is under wires but then the journey between La Roche Sur Yon and La Rochelle is quite an ordeal! The trackwork here is in poor condition and as a result the trains are limited to what seems like around 30mph. This lasted for 2 hours. I was aware of this beforehand and was the reason we had ensured that this part of the line should be done once. Once out of La Rochelle we sped to Rochefort and arrived on time just after 8. We had 40 minutes here so found a quick beer. Rochefort is an attractive station with a beautiful front and train shed. 67424 arrived a few minutes early for the service back to La Rochelle (where it terminated). This train was very short with just 3 coaches (but very quick!) SNCF Stephen from the forum had sent me a photo a couple of days beforehand of his journey with 67424 on the Ussel line so it obviously gets around! La Rochelle is also an attractive station. Beers were had that night as our journey the following day was not to start until 11:00. After a stop in the local Carrefour to pick up some provisions we headed to the station to wait for our train. 67523 in blue arrived on its own to head us to Bordeaux. Whilst only 1 loco we arrived on time. Bordeux train shed is painted light blue inside and it looks very attractive. After a quick beer in Bordeaux we headed for the 14:51 as far as Jonzac, the first stop north out of Bordeaux to do a quick there and back. 67576 and 67481 were on the front. We found an open bar in Jonzac so a swift drink was taken and we returned for our final train back to Bordeaux. 67558 and 67542 took us back. Back in Bordeaux we spent a few minutes at the station. A pilgrimage train was at the station with Sybic 26005 on the front busy going nowhere. It was 'retard' by 40 minutes when we arrived. By the time we had the station it was advertised as 2 hours late! A last look inside the station with a very impressive map on the wall. A quick beer before we headed to the airport turned into a night in Bordeaux thanks to the BA cancellations. Fortunately we were accommodated on the Sunday morning flight so in the end it worked out quite nicely. I can recommend doing this trip though if I were to do it again, i'd probably just do the La Rochelle to Bordeaux section due to the slow running of the northern section (as it is.) I took a few videos of the trains - you can find the others from this one:
  14. From the top of my head, Cambridge had FK, BSO, TSO mark 2 stock plus a few mark 1 RBR.
  15. I did report the one that I saw to ebay. I did not receive a response from them.
  16. It's gone already! I did report it to ebay so perhaps they were quick to deal with it. It was a Roco DB Class 420 unit for £22.84 free post - odd to start with! The whole listing had been copied from one of the Trains 4 U listings with contact details etc. The only thing that was different was an ebay seller with a feedback of 0 and the fact that the item was in China.
  17. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Roco-63007-DB-Class-420-3-Car-EMU-HO-Scale-Boxed-24770-eBayq-/302322666900?hash=item4663d5cd94:g:MTgAAOSwfpVZH~7S Didn't know that Trains 4u had moved to China! Have let Gareth know.
  18. Evening, Am after an 18 Pin Blanking plate to fit to an Arnold N Gauge SNCF 72000. The sound decoder is non-working but I can't seem to locate a blanking plate for it online. Please PM me if you can help - many thanks.
  19. Popped over to Princes Risborough this afternoon in time for the 1700 to Aylesbury. It arrived in late due to a late departure out of Aylesbury on the ecs. Had a nice run to Aylesbury and back. It was certainly a popular service with not many spare seats. There did seem to be a fair amount of enthusiasts enjoying the run. Instead of doing the second round trip, chose to get the 1802 to Haddenham & Thame Parkway which was hauled by 68009. First time i've come across the class and I have to say I am impressed. Back on a Turbo and then home. Last time I was at Princes Risborough was in 2008 to do the Bubble Car. My son was with me aged 4 and we enjoyed 55020. 9 years on you will see that he stands a bit higher against a Bubble Car! Arrival at Aylesbury At Haddenham A few vids of the afternoon. 55034 arriving at Princes Risborough https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=UlpQeqlZ29U 55034 departing Aylesbury https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=kYgfSGxu_4g 68012 passing through Princes Risborough https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=6QKjTESeeu8 68009 leaves Haddenham and Thame Parkway https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=RTTJ34mejTA
  20. One thing you could consider is the loop at the northern end of Limoges where the trains head towards Montjovis and eventually Angouleme. Will look forward to seeing this progress.
  21. Can anyone tell me whether both units are being used? I'm hoping to make a trip one Friday. Ideally i'd like the green one as I went on the blue one a few years ago.
  22. Your work here is superb. You must be delighted with the progress.
  23. The epb lights are in fact directional. The reason they don't appear to be is that they are both white. On my DCC one, I have fitted white blanks at both ends and have added some red paint to one of the LEDs. Not perfect but not bad at all.
  24. I don't know i'm afraid. French n gauge is nice though not the cheapest around and its sometimes difficult to get exactly what you want!
  25. I have bought from DM toys a few times. He also lists stuff on eBay including one day auctions starting at a euro. Having just looked at the website, I think that the 35 euros is only for a DCC fitted loco and no sound. I don't think a sound recording has been done on this class. If you are after a sound engine, I can recommend the sound fitted 72000 by Arnold. Mine was bought from dmtoys via eBay for 150 euros inc post. Worth keeping an eye out for one.
