  1. Hi I'm trying to work out how coal traffic, empties to and loaded from, we're worked. The timetable suggests that all such workings were on southbound trains with 4 stopping at Midsomer Norton for about an hour. But did the drop and pick up at the same time or did some trains drop off empties and others pick up fulls. Also did a banking engine accompany the trains and help with the shunt? Thanks in advance Andy
  2. Don't want to be a party pooper but £34b for a single N gauge wagon !!!
  3. Hi The answer as always is yes and no, my son's J94 just chewed the idler gear. So prompted by your post I got the Terrier gear from Peters Spares to have a go, at £1.58 plus p&p I thought it was worth a punt. The gears are the same however the Terrier gear runs freely on the stub axle but the J94 is a tight fit , the stub axle with the terrier gear is also a smaller diameter so does not fit the J94 bearings. Having said that as the two gears are identical I pushed the old gear of the stub axle and pushed the new terrier gear on and presto everything works. So there is hope. Andy
  4. All Many thanks for all of your input, I think that unlined black it will be then, as long as I choose the correct loco, the majority appear to be unlined pre 1957 so I'll go on that.
  5. I'm just about to finish off a 2P 4-4-0 in N gauge, however when I look at photos both in books and on the net it appears that the livery on some would appear to be unlined black and others are in lined black. The pictures attached would tend to support the idea that some at least were unlined. I always assumed they were all in mixed traffic lined black can anyone confirm if all were lined or is it a case of their filthy unkempt state hides the lining on some?
  6. Thank you for all your advice I'd better go and get my files out !
  7. Hi Gents I need a bit of advice on building the LNER 8 shoe under frame. I have no worries on the actual process of construction other than when it comes to adding the sole bar overlays (part 4). The holes appear to be too small to fit over the bearings I have soldered into the mainframe and there doers not appear to be sufficient metal to open up the wholes without destroying the axle box on the fret. Am I missing something ?
  8. Hi I'm fairly certain I've seen Railtrack vehicles parked in this compound from time to time. Andy
  9. Hi Yorkshire Square Any Idea when 2-047 Axles to convert Farish RP25 wheels to Association Standard pinpoints on 12.25mm axles will be back in stock ? Andy

  13. Hi Chris Where did you get the etched ground signal from ? Andy
  14. Hi I've had similar problems, look at the point on the blades where they are milled down to half width, sometimes the milled corner hits the stock rail before the blade proper and this contact is insufficient to carry enough power across the point. It can be sorted by carefully bending the blade so the toe hits the stock rail first.
