Indeed, here's Tug 46 going the other way with a loaded Tytherington train this morning. Woke up early and couldn't get back to sleep so made the most of the sun. I didn't expect to have to scrape the ice off the car today!
DC Rail's 60046 approaches Keynsham working 6Z51 Tytherington - Appleford. Not something I do often, but a telegraph wire has been edited out.

Your Sheepness
All things being equal, Cath and myself are hoping to venture down from the badlands of the Midlands to this shenanigans next Sunday. We want to bring Ellie with us (who is 25% border collie and 75% twonk) and Cath is fretting about whether she'll be allowed in the hall......we promise she will behave and not nip Chris H on the ankle when he's not looking..............
Disgusting of Market Harborough
Sadly I won't have Miss Daisy with me....just as well I suspect......
I will however have Eric with me and he needs constant supervision and treats........

I wonder if cost is a factor in deciding to paint a loco BR black instead of a colourful and possibly complicated pre-grouping livery?
Probably so but when it's done its worth it IMHO...

My local line and 1369 looks great! I popped down on Thursday to get a photo of 13268 at the head of the LMS coaches. but I won't pollute the thread with a non-GWR loco :)You know you want to....

A question for the floor....I am looking at the various bits and bobs I may offer for re-cycling via the B&B at SWAG.
I have a box of weathered 1970s/1980s Easten USA HO freight cars and a few locos - is this likely to be of interest or shall I not bother sorting them out and doing the paperwork!?

Sanding is a available when working tender first on a Black 5, although only 50% of what’s available when working chimney first.
That's what I'd heard - a former driver told me he was unsurprised when it stalled running tender first...

Why?
I am led to believe it relates to sanding pipes and direction

Beautiful machine.
Wasn't the loco kind of adopted as the mascot of its namesake BBC1 children's programme way back in the last century?
They certainly featured it ( in the days of Noakes, Purves and Singleton - the pre-Judd era IIRC)

They are really nice! I'm in the area in late May, if they still have some stock I might treat myself!
Check their opening hours - they do change - its worth being on their email list.

How did you make your hopper metal loads?
They look awesome & would like to copy for my open MEA/Limpet wagons.
Plastic scrap for the base but bits of takeaway tinfoil cut into to strips and added to the "mess".
