  1. Is it the whole point, a particular rail or just the frog?
  2. With any solution its best to apply in baby steps and let the solution do the work. I've found with Microscale US decals I can sometimes encourage the decal onto detail by using a small piece of foam and pressure but I find most other makes are a lot more unforgiving...
  3. Morning Rob My approach in simple terms for waterslide or press fix decals is as follows: Gloss surface Setting solution such as Microsol/Microset - although others are available (MIG Decalset) Careful application of matt varnish pre-weathering Chris
  4. I do like a shunting puzzle - makes life a little more interesting at shows as well...
  5. Yes ( IIRC) and yes ...58s are the "scale" coupler but are less reliable in use on any sort of uneven surface ( i.e. a dodgy exhibition layout). I'm part of an HO group with an exhibition layout and we are not keen on 58s
  6. I have relatives in Liverpool - I will pay you a visit next time I'm visiting. Stay safe.
  7. I'd just like to say I found so many uniform images I could have posted but resisted.....
  8. The sum total of the recent posts is that it's a mine field although I certainly don't agree that masks are simply social badges to let people show they care....
  9. I got the impression events and premises could set their own rules (joy) on things like masks and jab status and I expect public transport staff will be lobbying for masks on passengers under most circumstances so it could be an interesting summer..
  10. Digitrains have done minor NCE repairs including encoder replacement for me. Chris
  11. Being an exhibitor will bring a slightly different perspective. I don't visit a supermarket for 6 or more hours at a time. If masks become "optional"or a matter for individuals to "take responsibility" - which seems to be the angle being trotted out on the media this morning - many will chose not to wear them and I don't expect organisers will want to require them then to police that aspect of an exhibition. At the moment I'd prefer not to be breathed on by too many strangers over one ot more days at a show. I operate virtually all of my small exhibition layouts from the front so I may be in the minority of exhibitors of course.
  12. May we have a source and some stats please for this comparison? I can give the Covid figures: https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/healthandsocialcare/conditionsanddiseases/bulletins/coronaviruscovid19infectionsurveypilot/2july2021 This is the current (July) ONS figure for England In England, the percentage of people testing positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) continued to increase in the week ending 26 June 2021; we estimate that 211,100 people within the community population in England had COVID-19 (95% credible interval: 185,200 to 239,300), equating to around 1 in 260 people.
  13. How did you get on with the tracks on the Airfix kit - I'm told they are too short - I'm interested as I'm just about to build one...
  14. Several on the circuit: Bakewell Street 7mm BR 50s-70s Gare de Brindille 16mm WDLR 1917 Ready to show: Penmaenbach 4mm Railfreight - hopefully in RM this year Lockdown Fen 4mm W&U. Cropper Steet 4mm mainly blue diesel - the replacement for Dock Street To build: 4mm S&D branchline through station 3.5mm US generic switching layout for my CP/CN/IHB and Guilford equipment Plus a yet to be determined home for my recently acquired and/or ordered DRS locos and nuclear stock....
  15. I'm no expert but I think there are judgements made each year about likely strains and risks when flu jabs are formulated. Chris
  16. My recollection of Peterborough is that it is a relatively large airey environment whch would also - I assume - mitigate tramsmission risk?
  17. I have been told I'll get the full refund but I'll keep an eye on my account...
  18. It will be interesting to see how folk approach modelling the tie-downs. I have just tracked down an old Airfix Scorpion kit - unopened box in its plastic wrapping..a bit of AFV modelling will ensue.. Whatever the solution I do note the loaded wagon will not fit back in its box .....I'll get my coat...
  19. There are varieties - a modern hall with lots of opening windows and doors may work well for a summer/early autumn show with small numbers?
  20. I have been promised a refund so hopefully that's an end to it. Thanks to the original poster!
  21. Thanks Andy Small extra detail - I'd be happy to mask up as a visitor if I can dip in and out etc but reluctant as an exhibitor tied to a layout for 95% of the time Chris
  22. I've had a difficult time with MR and despite emails plus some kind help from contacts there I got no joy. Your post has prompted me to ring Baeuer and yes - I can't use it on my laptop! I certainly didn't get told that when I switched from paper to digital - like others - to be greener. I've now asked for a cancellation and refund pointing out I've been sold something I can't use! Chris
