I took a delivery of concrete into Margate about 4 years ago, did not get to talk to anyone, but it 'seemed' to be an active plant, there were metal stillages being unloaded from a wagon in the yard there, I know they make a range of toys now so maybe its that rather than trains/scalextrix being made?? Am down by Chirk next Monday, will try and pop into Dapol and ask the question, good excuse for a nose in the shop anyway...

So what do Hornby make in Margate now then? because im sure the factory was still producing, unless they just do the Railroad stuff?? Dapol used to have thier factory in Llangollen, along with a Dr Who exibition! You could take factory tours. Now Dapol have moved just down the road to the South of Chirk, they have a shop there, but its only a small ind unit, so guess its just used for the design etc.

Really is a very impressive model! I always wanted to have a job in a depot like Toton, alas it was never to be, but 3 years ago I started working on a Class 37 and 47 at a heritage line, well after many a cracked head, skinned knuckles, ripped clothes, cramp, contortions, spanners/bolts dropped under the sump, never to be retieved, I am now glad that I never followed that dream!! We also have a 26, what a little dream she is to work on

Well im going to do a heritage line, freelance. Not every one wants a set period, whilst it limits me in running anything modern, except for say one Pacer as a shuttle on a seperate line, I can get away with all sorts. I suppose for me, as someone who likes trains, rather than being a rivit counter/purist/spotter, I just want to, for want of a better word 'play'
