  1. A few more steam locomotives have visited just for photographic purposes. so here is a once in a lifetime visit to the Smallwood lower yard
  2. A most unlikely visitor to Smallwood. One of our Club members has just weathered the locomotive and was keen to use part of the layout as a backdrop for a picture - This is certainly a one off !!!
  3. I think left to some of our members we would add the litter !
  4. An addition to the town area with a back scene added From the Smallwood team
  5. Work this week has centred on the replacing one of the points in the station. For some reason the blades on the original point got damaged. Being the position it is it was easier to cut the old point out and replace it with a new one. It would have been difficult to see when the layout was on show at the Redditch exhibition because the station canopy covers the area but we had glued the old point up so we could run trains over it. It did mean we could not run trains around in the station. from the Smallwood team
  6. A picture showing the back scene pictures from the Smallwood team
  7. Thanks for all the comments on the layout The reality with the location we have been careful to say it is somewhere in England. However there are pictures that make up the backscene thus far (still work to do) are made up of pictures that we have taken Behind the station the tops of the buildings are made up of pictures taken of Worcester from the end of the platforms at Foregate Station, the Church is Hanbury Church and there are pictures of buildings from both Redditch and Hereford that make up the rest of the town. from the Smallwood team
  8. The latest addition to Smallwood are the fuelling points on the DMU siding and a tank wagon to feed them with fuel. The tanker is an adapted one from a Dapol kit which has been permanently fixed down to the layout complete with the feed pipe into the small brick building alongside the wagon from the Smallwood team
  9. Hi Here is the track plan for the layout from the Smallwood team Smallwood layout.pdf
  10. A touch of steam for Smallwood an industrial shunter
  11. Hi Shaun, Thanks for posting the pictures of Smallwood You were not the only visitor to think that Smallwood was best in show. However we make a point of not giving the best in show award voted by the visitors to one of our club layouts. Unlike some model railway exhibitions we like to celebrate the quality of our visiting layouts from the Smallwood team
  12. By the way sorry there were no trains in the pictures as I took the pictures after the show in the club room from the Smallwood team
  13. We have a tradition of using local names for our layouts started over 50 years ago with the first layout the club constructed and so Smallwood comes from a district name in Redditch where the club was based for many years and as you have spotted our shopping centre has the same name as the one in Redditch town centre from the Smallwood team
