At a very young age, I would introduce myself as "Andrew John Young, engine driver"

Never really grown out of it, although circumstances have conspired to mean that I haven't learned to drive a loco properly yet.

Live in Darlington with my very tolerant wife and my amazing railway loving son. We bought his first railway (Bachman G scale Thomas - what else) before he was even out of his incubator, and he is well know at the local railway museum. Important education has included knowing Locomotion by name and learning the controls in a stream locomotive

I currently conduct a couple of choirs, teach in a primary school, compose the occasional piece of music and very, very slowly construct railways from cardboard.
