Hi Guys...searching for inspiration and pointers on building my own trees from wire...any appropriate blogs on RMweb,....?
Would prefer to have a go at making my own rather than the 'bog standard' off the shelf products if possible, but I understand there are packages of wire for certain trees to form up into trees available which may be a start.

Bob,
Try looking at the thread Hemyock Page 9 onwards. Jim was an excellent modeller and made fantastic trees. Unfortunately he is no longer with us but his thread is still open and so his modelling is still with us. He was modelling trees in autumn so they did not have many leaves.

Filling in probate and IHT forms, I've got a headache now.

How did I use up 149% of my message storage ? - Several years of messages now deleted (painfully slowly).

My new life starts here and hopefully I will get back to posting more regularly in a few weeks time once I have organised a new modelling room in the house.

I have a revolutionary idea. If we want to get kids interested in model railways, stop building exhibition layouts 4'6" from the ground!

I have to agree. When I took my lads we would go and find a chair or something for them to stand on. It was very difficult to keep picking them up as I have a bad back. Lower level layouts could be run with the operators sitting down, or higher level with a bench in front.
Needless to say none of my sons are into model railways, those that got into modelling went with Warhammer or military modelling. Which reminds me. I have a campaign to finish so I can conquer my youngest so...
