  1. I sent a query through yesterday as I’d paid the balance in late October this year after their prompting email, but had no sign of the order. Had a reply this morning saying they have them waiting in stock but still needed the balance payment - I’ve supplied their confirmation of payment email and a statement screenshot so fingers crossed that gets it moving. It's possible there’s some order limbo where yours is waiting too!
  2. Wonder if Hornby will put this livery into production? Would love to be surprised! New Livery for LNER Intercity 225 Fleet - https://youtu.be/MGRVdq5BOBA
  3. Hi Andy, I'm having the same error as Trainshed Terry - saying I do not have a live RMweb premium membership, and can't yet see the Premium Theme on the dropdown. Any help is much appreciated 👍
  4. I'm guessing the final coaches finish will match the HST - the example coaches seem white rather than silver as at the top of the page, but could be unfinished/mockup? It's a curious thing, and having recently admired the Intercity APT I'm not in any position to argue taste!
  5. Really happy with 91117 - I've not got my previous GNER example to hand so can't directly compare shades of colour but the leap in detail is very clear. Nice and smooth on the rolling road and can't wait for the mark 4 coaches and retooled DVT to arrive to run them all together.
  6. With the updates & improvements I think Rapido have done a great job keeping the RRP not far off the first run. Looking forward to picking up No. 23591!
  7. DCC+sound fitted on both. The blue and yellow has my attention too, the Intercity Swallow doesn't quite pop as much. Maybe a APT-P style livery next April 1st...
  8. I was looking to follow up a pre-order deposit but having seen this news will hold off for a couple of weeks, nothing more important than a strong recovery.
  9. My local model shop (Frizinghall Models & Railways) called last week to say they were expecting the 7 car stock in soon and to check I was ok with the new price. In the moment I said ok - it had been on pre-order with them for quite a while, and I had been after the model since it appeared in the catalogue (and was one model I always requested in any annual survey!) Now it's here these flaws and shortcomings - capacitors, squeaks, fragility and performance are really pushing me to reconsider if it is worth the outlay, and in turn I'm disappointed that my model shop would lose a sale.
  10. Thank you! Went for a Kato GS-4 which I've not found the easiest mode to find, let alone with a discount!
  11. I suppose the the illustrations on the box are also inspired by the film? I'm not familiar enough with the source material to know if they are exact frames. I can't imagine anyone trying a set 'A special edition train pack inspired by... 'Harry Potter' and having images of the iconic viaduct, (perhaps with flying Ford Anglia) or a the stream loco pulling out of Kings Cross within a film reel. It just all feels...icky, and does make me second guess which companies I can ethically and financially support.
  12. I think this model has popped up previously in this thread but 365games have the Hornby Experimental Purple A4 60028 Walter K Whigham (R3701) for £97.64 delivered using their Halloween discount code: TREAT666 https://www.365games.co.uk/model-kits/Hornby-br-a4-class-4-6-2-walter-k-whigham-era-4-model-train
  13. It's the poster of a PG-rated film that's about working class oppression. Is it inappropriate to have this dvd cover on the shelves in Tesco? As being woke is to be alert to injustice in society, such as homophobia and racism, what is it people are afraid the "anti-everythings" will take away from them?
  14. Almost certainly, but would be: Depriving an independent of that sale. Rewarding Hornby for squeezing supply. Full price.
  15. Same here, have reordered with TMC so fingers crossed. I'd urge anyone else who's had a cancellation to switch their preorder to their local model shop if possible or other independent online.
  16. When is the estimated shipping date for this? In terms of price, it's about where I'd expect it to be given recent events. Hornby want £314.99 for their Midland Pullman HST which wasn't originally going to be a mild retool of their 2007 model when announced.
  17. I hadn't seen this channel/collection before - will check this out later!
  18. Interesting, the 5-car R3873 is now £329.16 from £394.99 too.

    Preorder email

Another cancelled W1 pre-order here, placed 6th Jan 2020 so as soon as it was up! Chances of finding another shop with stock seems slim Very worried as the APT was also pre-ordered in the same transaction - if that goes I'll be even more disappointed! Surely Hornby can give retailers a figure of how many they will supply and Hattons can allocate accordingly?
  20. I've got the train pack and was slooking to add the divisible centre coach pack but it seems really hard to find! As earlier in the thread there is that pretty glaring typo in Only a Northen Song - so maybe there will be a new revised run? For the price (£80+) it seems quite sloppy, and I'm hoping the range is not limited edition.
  21. I'm still waiting for 90024 in the GNER livery before jumping in. I'm a bit surprised that it hasn't yet emerged with Hornby bringing the retooled class 91 in GNER livery and Rails producing the class 89 in two GNER variants.
  22. What a spectacular, joyous celebration of Hornby, the hobby and our railways. Very happy to see the Rocket, APT and class 91 there!

    Class 85

I've got the Electric Blue AL5 on pre-order..the model because of the high praise here and the AL5 because of how striking I find the livery. A quick question - would it have run mainly (or indeed exclusively) with maroon mk1 coaches or would there have been variety in livery and stock?
