  1. Yes It was about 150 or so views caused by a macro on a gaming mouse refreshing an open page in the back ground over about 8 hours. 150 views out of 200k hardly seems worth discussing in any depth, now we know what caused it. Thank you for your concern, but as said, no Dragons here.
  2. Hi I would love a stalker like that, but I think they are probably to deer.
  3. No J...your aiming up the wrong wall. We thought lets put up all of these pictures from all these great layouts and see who gravitates to the toilet scene with some dubious humour
  4. Hi No unfortunately, we will not be going to Warley, I just do not like the NEC for this type of show. Many reasons, but I would never try to put anyone off as those reasons are my own and others would have their own perspective. We will be looking for pictures from others if available, but I am not looking to feel as if I was there
  5. I am reasonably clever, but i am not too keen on being described as a door mat
  6. [quote name="thebritfarmer" post="1659983" timestamp="1415809395 Kal how do you find the Hattons 21pin decoders? http://www.ehattons.com/stocklist/results.aspx?searchfield=21%20pin%20decoder http://www.ehattons.com/71920/Hattons_DCR_21PIN_Direct_21_pin_4_function_1_1Amp_direct_plug_decoder_with_back_EMF/StockDetail.aspx Gaugemaster, hattons and dcc concepts are pretty much the same decoder, just with different features and prices.
  7. I have my Z21 connected to my digitrax loconet, so no practical limit , detection works and i end up with wifi for loconet. Works well.
  8. He was logged on yesterday, according to his profile. Just not posting. I have times that i prefer to read then write, so maybe he is feeling the same.
  9. Next time we meet ask me and i will tell you some helecopter stories. It was my regular method of transport for a few years, but not for conversation here. Taxi helecopters, very much so on air fields, on purple star we saw squadrons of cobra and sea Knight, taxi one behind another before taking off at camp lejeune Airheads, not so much, such like locations tend to be drop in, straight out, but then there is no room or time for a taxi and the airspace is less restrictive. Unfortunately accidents happen, I have been unfortunate to be in the area of two mid air helicopter collisions but thankfully not witness to either.
  10. Our time era, some time next week, so contemporary. Older items are then a film set, museum or re-enactment scene. Who knows what might be recreated for a film set next week, a 10000, or a DP2 replica for example.
  11. Credit where credit is due.... You have made a tragedy look well presented Now when you gonna put it back to GBRf
  12. Are Roco still developing the Z21? It seems to have no updates or news in a very long time, unless i am reading in the wrong places.
  13. Road surface looks very convincing, but couldn't find if you mentioned what you have used, is it a silver sand?
  14. Yes But red and blue, And also for the RAF, but they prefer pink and yellow.
  15. Pick a wagon and put red tape on one side and black tape on the other, to signify rail A and B. Now as long as you never pick it up and turn it around, it will show you which rail is a and which is b, then use colur wires to signify which. I use B -Black and red for the A.
  16. Yep, i got that jaz always likes to...... Help out
  17. Well that is quite a few, so doing them all would add up to a lot BUT on a small layout it would be difficult to have them all on anyway. On a small shunting layout DCC becomes pretty special, because you can run loco right up to one another and have far more on the layout than you would with DC. Four lane yard, no reason to not have all 4 on together, run consists , run arounds etc, all with one controller. If you had to do that with DC, you would need a controller per track, so when you think about it, the more you want to run the more economical DCC becomes. And the fun factor for interesting shunt puzzles, is something that can be wired up with little complexity. So cost, you need to think how many loco's would you want to run at the same time in your imagination. That many decoders x £10 plus a controller, say £50-80 Then think how many DC controllers you would need to do the same thing (well close to the same things) because you cannot shunt two locos together on DC. (not easily anyway) Nobody can make your mind up, so all I can say is that for me, I would rather have 5 or six locos that I had full control over, than 20 where 18 of them are on the shelf. But we are all different and others would have a different take on it, so do not be swayed by me, just think of it as one of many alternatives.
  18. You can get DCC chips for £10 and as Rob said a basic DCC system for circa £50, If you are seriously considering DC, then even the cheapest of DCC system is worth thinking about. The wiring will be the same, the decoders will be the same, so if you decide to go more grand, then you only need to swap the control station. With DC you need to isolate sections, with DCC, you can wire it all up as one, for a small layout. This makes it very easy to wire. Just two Wires...... well on a small layout you can get away with this for DCC, but as with anything, the bigger you get the more complex it is. What I can say is that a DCC system will always have less complex wiring than a DC layout. That said, You can run a loco with a decoder on DC, but not really the other way round, some systems can do it but it is a very bad way to operate and destroys DC motors over time. How many locos do you have? You could have course run both, have the outer loop DC and the inner DCC, so you can run both, DCC enable loco could run on either loop, but locos without decoders would of course be limited to the DC loop.
  19. Well.... I only got an interest in Model railways, because of DCC, it started out as playing with a Christmas present that had sat in a box for a year or more. I set out a track mat and then decided to go and buy some points. While there I saw the Pendolino set from Hornby and remembering Zero, thought wow this could be interesting. So for me it was, about automation and Computer control , without DCC there would have been no AV. I did start converting some old second hand locos, but to be honest compared to some of the new, even railroad stock and some good second hand bargains, I decided the old stuff can sit in a display or be sold to collectors to finance some more up to date stock. Trying to get old stuff to work in my case I decided was a false economy, but it is an individual thing. For some that is the hobby. I buy my wire and components from Rapid mostly. If you do decide on DCC, beware those that shout loudest on what system you should go for. Try and decide what you want to achieve, before looking at any system.
  20. How about.... Everything I say is a lie.
  21. Omg!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your turning a beautiful GBRf loco in to a dodgy DRS livery, tell me it is not true.
  22. Collecting resources for new station scenery
