Hello meatloaf. One layout that could fit your bill is Hillport goods and is one I am very fond of, a quick search will find it. In sf315 [Steve] opening post he says he has some spare boards 10ft x 1ft, he does expand the 1ft by adding some thick foam insulation board pieces to hold some scenic bits on. It's well worth a read. Best

Hello Steve, as you know I am very fond of your layout Hillport Goods even asking to be notified when/if it comes up for sale. just now you are taking it to many shows and constantly adding/ improving it so not much chance of it escaping onto the open market. With that in mind I took my self off to read all the posts I could find about it on the various forums it is on. I learnt that it was a dc system [must of missed that] my preference is for dcc. My mind began to tic over that I could build something similar but based on a TWIN of Hillport........................ not identical but similar. Best

New DCC controller "ACE" from Sig-na Trak
Barnaby replied to Mike Storey's topic in DCC Discussion Topics (not questions)
Yes Nick it will work but going forward Fraser intends to bring out an updated handset for the A3 but that is somewhere down his like to have list for now. Regards -
New DCC controller "ACE" from Sig-na Trak
Barnaby replied to Mike Storey's topic in DCC Discussion Topics (not questions)
I have today been speaking to both Fraser, proprietor of GBH and spoke with Alex from GLR Bespoke services who both confirm the new version of their DCC controller the Ace 3 will be available to purchase very soon. They have some pre production to video view on the GLR web site. https://www.glrailways.co.uk/index.asp One point of interest to me was there is an intention to update the Ace2 to the later A3 software but not all functions will upgrade i.e. the A3 has a full size edge to edge touch screen. The panel box looks similar size to the A2. One of the new functions is to be able to draw your track work on the screen and activate the accessories from there. It is well worth a look at the GLR web site video. Cheers Barnaby -
As you say Rob, it presents a much more professional image. It's amazing how much more impressive a simple drape adds to the viewing. Great.

Hello Martin. Now that is something I have been considering of late too. A compact, but full of interest shunting plank but using set track parts. Ill mark this as one to watch.

Building another O gauge micro layout and weathering stock
Barnaby replied to Nick G's topic in 7mm+ modelling
Yes Dog & Fish looking very nice and I will watch out for their weathering. I got me one of those Rusty Rails FLT just deciding what colour scheme to use, probably go Yellow, thanks for the heads up on it. A while ago I asked if you had an intended layout plan to which you replied with some descriptive words and a photo, seems like it's very minimalistic just 1 point, with a traverser at the LH end. I'm presently considering whether to go sector plate or traverser. It would be better to use 1 hand to move the plate and a pivoting at one end sector plate could be best option but...... I think I will get better alignment from a traverser albeit I would need both hands to square it up, what did you do? I haven't looked at all you posts but I will have a check back through in case you have posted about it. Best -
Oh is it, when I looked it says 4, 5, 6 Nov with the public in Sat 5 and Sun 6 with Crewe as the location. I need to look it up again. My Mistake I only looked for the Crewe bit and not the Alsager part of the location. 🥴 Thanks Steve

I'll look up the dates etc later as this might be a good one to visit. I think I could sell it to my wife as we used to live in the area 2 years in Wincham, Northwich and 3 years in Holmes Chapel so we may do a stop over and visit a few pubs we know. Best Edit: Oh bum! it's this weekend and that may be too soon to make arrangements, pity.

Hello. While searching the www for some information I was directed back to here, [seems many modelling roads lead back to RMweb]. Unfortunately, the very important part of this information a photograph was missing. Where the photo should be was something like this>>> post-2973-0-68031900-1338290280_thumb.jpg and a little white box. Is there any way I can get these details to resolve into the photo it previously had displayed. It does seem that this info is directly related to the photo but I don't know how to resolve it. If there is a way, can it be made into a sticky for future ref. Thanks
