  1. The making of BOWFORD - OO layout. Hi all I averaged about four hours a day - but at 74 years old the max was 6 hours a day. Also the baseboards were 'used' ones having been salvaged from a previous layout by my friend who's layout it is. Another comment I would make is that adding all the 'stone cast' buildings etc. does make the baseboards very heavy, but my friend already had them all and had to be used to keep costs done.
  2. I have just finished a 5 week layout build for a friend - it is 9' x 18" OO BR(W) branch terminus - I will post various parts of the layout over the next few days. First part is Water Features.
  3. Coopers Common, the N gauge layout I have made for my Son and his Children is now finished - below are new photos of the finished layout - but will post some with his stock added when he takes it to his house. Back to O and OO in a few weeks - have three layouts to finish off !

  17. I wanted to do something a bit different- so decided to do a B1 Carriage Heating Unit based on No 17. based at Ipswich from 63-66. I saw what I thought was a reasonable O Gauge B1 on Ebay and purchased it for a reasonable price. After delivery by courier and opening the box - my heart sank a bit. What I thought was a bit below par build quality, was in fact a very poor attempt not helped by a rough courier journey! I ended doing a virtual rebuild, making missing and broken parts and a full repaint. Weathering still to be done after getting a few photos of the prototype.
  18. Last of current batch of weathering - 56110 Croft - Proto neo plates used on this standard Heljan O Gauge release.
  19. Here is a Heljan Class 31/4 converted back to a Class 31/1. 31128 is currently the only member of the Class with a mainline certificate - snowploughs to be added later.
  20. Class 37 livery as delivered - modelled after about six months of service with the dwindling steam locos - medium weathering on the roof, frames and bogie - bodysides just a light dusting , as per a little cleaning - airbrushed and powders used.
