  1. I have to admit to struggling with the C&L website, I was looking in the Homepage Product Listing 2mm tab which is disabled Good news the roller gauges are still listed for anyone who wants to go down that route. It provides a better looking track but removes the need for re-wheeling stock so a lower cost with only minimal increase in time spent constructing turnouts. Turnouts can be built to finer tolerances than those by Peco and British Finetrack to avoid 'wobble' though the crossing
  2. As a hybrid solution; design your layout in Templot to N gauge 9mm track code 40 rail then build your turnouts and use British Finescale plain track. I bought some code 40 9mm roller gauges from C & L Finescale a while ago but on checking today they don't list any items under their 2mm section but it may be worth a phone call to see if they will be getting any more. They have also listed copper clad sleepers of the requisite size before too, if they don't stock them now the 2mm Association sell them and rail but not the N gauge gauges
  3. The model looks stunning, it would be great to see it in the flesh if you venture up to the Midlands one day. Having read through the full thread and seeing the images on the latter pages showing Yelverton almost finished is it possible for the lost images to be reloaded? I know it's a big ask and not easily or quickly carried out but would put into context the text that accompanies them during the construction, painting and weathering. Andy
  4. Hi Nick, Thank you for the kind words. I have watched it a number of times and don't see the odd operational blip although I can see a few video errors but left them in as removing them would detract from the video. I'm glad you like the footage, please feel free to link to it if you wish. It wasn't until I was editing it I realised how little I had of Rancoutt's Cider, I will make amends when I see Much Murkle again as this is an important element of the layout as a whole. I shall certainly stop to chat when I see the layout again, and take some video of course. Best wishes Andy
  5. Following my visit to Doncaster to see Much Murkle on 11 Feb the video I filmed can be found on YouTube https://youtu.be/WAJ60BZMRXE. It lasts for about 30 mins. Unfortunately theres not much of Rancoutt's Cider, if any. I hope you enjoy the film... Andy
  6. Finally seen Much Murkle in the flesh today at Doncaster....I wasn't disappointed. This was the only reason I attended the show. It is a fantastic layout, very well modelled and to a high standard, always something moving and in the odd few seconds there isn't there's plenty to look at. I spent about 40 minutes watching and videoing and chatting with Nick et al...most enjoyable
  7. Pete, are these still available as I would like a set if they are, could you let me have the contact details please Cheers Andy
  8. Hi Andy, I'm not in a position to do any track building at the moment but I'd definitely work with you if I was, they look pretty good to me so don't give up on the development of them. The main issue I see is making something accurate enough to hold either code 55 or 40 to gauge hence my interest as I think hand built track looks better but I don't want to go down the FS route. Please keep us posted on how they progress Andy
  9. Hi Richard When you have these in stock I'd like a set please if you could pm me. Do you know when they might be available Andy
  10. Hi Richard, I'd like a set of roller gauges too please. I'm wanting to try both gauges from yourself and Pete. When you get them in if you let me have the details I'll sort out payment Thanks Andy
  11. Hi Pete, I PM'd you but I'd like to purchase some roller gauges if you let me have the details Thanks Andy
  12. Don and David, Thank you for the replies, they are very informative. Your track work is fantastic, it flows well, looks the part and is well constructed. I looked at those chairs but couldn't decide how many chairs were included for £2. Looking again you get 96 plain chairs for £2 plus slide chairs and check rail chairs. As I need 1100 sleepers not including points £24 should see enough for plan track. My layout will be built in the near-ish future, I've decided on the plan, designed the baseboard and framing, I'm just working on clearing some stuff out to allow me to start building, oh, and I need to join the 2mm Association! Andy
  13. Not wanting to hijack Don's thread, but a quick question to David, in the photos of your trackwork, where did you source the chairs? I ask as I'm thinking about going the same route as yourself - timber sleepers and code 40 rail - but I can't seem to find rail chairs by the bag full. Back to you Don, keep posting the updates, I like others am watching avidly Andy
  14. Just catching up with the thread and followed the ebay link for Ratio tube wagon; theres one here being sold now for those who require it Andy
  15. Hi Douglas, I don't know if you read 'Adventures in code 55' on this forum, but the author is using static grass to great effect judging by the photos. I can't remember what make or length the fibres are without re-reading the thread. The link goes to the method the author is using, see post 169 for details although the whole thread is a good read http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/22315-adventures-in-code-55/page-7 Regards Andy
