Hi i would like to build a small n gauge layout Rhb using kato my problem seems to be finding a supplier in the uk with stock all seem to be waiting is this a problem caused by brexit ??/ can any one say, if they have bought from Japan - also are there any taxes to pay as an import ?? of about £500 sterling . any help / ideas would be great thanks for reading Dave

  4. Hi Andrew, after reading through your new venture ,you talk about not putting the back scene ,onto the baseboard (hang it on the wall), please can you explain how the embankment on the baseboard , goes up to the back scene without touching ,but able to take grass and trees ,etc or have i missed some thing ?? --your layout grows so quickly, it is hard to keep up. thanks for reading Dave
  5. HI just measured one - 485 mil o/all as kit + you could trim another 25mil, off at the toe end at a push , hope this helps Dave
  6. Thank you all for the answers i will now make a template 36" radius and place a piece of peco track in the middle of the turn round area - then work in ether side peco set track rad 2 - hope this makes sense - will let you know if this works out //Dave

  8. please may i ask, has anyone - tried running a Dapol - 3f Jinty or a57xx on -- lenz r1 914 mm Dia if so -- it would work for me /// or would a lenz r1 track -- fit peco r2 set track ??? - if one lenz r1 was placed in the middle of a half circle of peco r2s would this work ???-- could this be classed as transition curve ???? it does not matter what it looks like as the curve would be out of sight -- thanks for reading and your comments , regards Dave
  9. HI Every one , i am very interested in this - and wonder if it is possible to get down to 3ft 6" dia if so i can use both sides of the loft , i am only running 0-6-0 tanks , + b set, but the curves are out of sight ( not too worried what it looks like )- does any one know about transition curves ??? also could it be applied to peco set track 40" -- and tighten it down to 3ft 6" thanks for reading.- regards Dave

HI, i dont know if this idea would help (i do not have a Heljan loco) but looking at the picture the splines look to big for the gear , you would still have to replace a split gear -- but put the axel in a lathe / piller drill and reduce splines, a little with a file now place gear onto shaft and drill down through the plastic/ nylon gear shoulder , and axel with a fine drill and put a suitable pin (mills ) etc to stop any chance of the gear slipping just an idea regards Dave
  12. HI every one , now this is a very good idea for a layout to fiddle yard ,and save space, it is just a thought, that if the swing bridge piveted in the middle 600 mm the whole train could be turned round, before going into the into the f/y saving the points - + also the balance of the bridge , may become easier to construct - just ideas // - but this is one of the best i have seen /regards Dave
  13. HI all , i am also very interested in , this type of layout for 7mm - but i also need help , if we take Iain rice , plan drawn in 4mm scale ?? multiply 6.5 x 21" comes out at 11.3 feet ? which in turn leaves 2ft 9" for a fiddle yard ??? please could someone say if it would be possible to change the entrance points , useing the fiddle yard which in turn may increase the fiddle yard size to 4 ft 6" to give the chance of a tank loco + b set any help with the adjustment please, or words of help as would it work thanks for reading Dave
